Across the oceans and in two very different cities a counter culture was bubbling under. One a speed driven surf infused art house vibe that had more in common with Jack Keroauc and beat poetry then they would care to admit. The Other a need to flee the slums and hum drum of a country brought to its knees by a government that broke the promise of a utopian post war dream. From the plastic fantastic of swinging 60’s London to the filth and the fury of generation of dole line denizens. GENERATION X. This weeks episode address all of the above and how 2 different cultures mixed to create the movement that freed music from the tyrannies of the institutionalised record labels and said.

ANYONE CAN DO THIS ALL YOU NEED IS A GUITAR, 3 CHORDS AND ENOUGH BALLS TO GIVE IT A GO. It broke down class barriers, race barriers and gender stereotypes to proclaim COME AND HAVE A GO. It had one badge one banner and that was PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the usual ramble through my mind and a chat about some late night lockdown buys and local finds. BE WARNED i do make some off mic noises as i attempt to make what is essentially a visual medium into and audio one. ( showing you my new finds that have slotted into my collection nicely.

There is some unscripted bangs and scrapes do not worry your favourite tea drinking mild mannered metal nut is just attempting that most difficult taking records out of their sleeves whilst on the Pod and not making an Unholy noise.

80 years ago he worlds most famous woman went missing trying to traverse the globe in her Lockheed Model 10 E and sparking a rescue search unlike anything before or since. But as her husband and the world grieved the name of her co pilot Fred Noonan disappeared into the mist's of time.

This is about an album that tries to correct that and give them both their credit as they both where lost to the world.

Into the history books flew the R101 to be forgotten by but a few enthusiasts of early aviation, But brought to life and to the minds of millions by the greatest band on the planet's creative and curios lead Singer. When Bruce helped write the 18. 01 min epic track, little did he know how he would re awaken the worlds interest in this the lost forgot act of Hubris and the last twitching death throws of a once great Empire. The empire of the clouds

A life long love for music, in all its glories has given me an insight into what makes a good system to play my music. Increasingly these days i’m finding myself more and more heading back to my Analog roots. So this weeks episode is all about my system the best way to start one and the do’s and don’t of modern hardware

!!! Error i said in the show that the built in preamp on the record deck was so you don’t need an amp. What i meant to say was you don’t need a dedicated Phono input on your amp.!!!!!

Mine has both and if i leave it on it fights with my Amp
