As the end time spiritual Babylon nation is being judged, that is when we will also see the end of the exile for the house of Jacob. Yeshua will gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel and lead them on a journey HOME. We will see the fulfillment of Northern kingdom and Southern kingdom being reunited into ONE kingdom (Ezek 37: 16-28).

In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. hey shall ASK THE WAY to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. Jeremiah 50:3-4

You that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and LET JERUSALEM COME INTO YOUR MIND. Jeremiah 51:50

For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. Isaiah 14:1

The Jewish people refer to the tribulation period as the “birth pangs of the Messiah”. The fall of Babylon is a part of those birth pangs:

Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria. And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon Mount Ephraim and Gilead.

Jer. 50: 18-19

What is the “vengeance of the Lord”? It is also called the “controversy of Zion.” The controversy is over this: to whom does the land of Israel belong?

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. Joel 3:1-2

The nations are judged during the “Day of the Lord.” Why? Why is the indignation of the Lord raised against the nations? Because of the controversy of Zion. Because the nations seek to divide Israel and divide Jerusalem to create a Palestinian state. This brings down the judgment of the Lord upon the nations, and specifically, it brings down judgment upon spiritual Babylon.

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. Zechariah 14: 1-3

The United States has taken the lead over the last 20 years in seeking a two state solution and to establish a Palestinian state. When Babylon falls, she will receive a double portion back for what she meted out:

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. or all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. Revelation 18:2-3,6

There is an end time spiritual land of Babylon. In this session, we will learn about some of the characteristics of this spiritual land of Babylon. In looking at these characteristics, we will see that it speaks of the United States of America.

*Babylon is associated with being economically prosperous

*Babylon is a world military power

*Babylon has defeated mighty kingdoms through war

*Babylon dwells on many waters

*Babylon is described as being a “melting pot” of many nations

*Babylon is described as having a heritage in the God of Israel

*Babylon is destroyed by an assembly of nations that attack her

*During the time of Jacob’s trouble, Babylon will be at war with the Medes (Iran)

*Babylon’s destruction comes suddenly and quickly

The judgment comes upon Babylon because she refuses to repent. She is given ample opportunity to repent but she does not.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reaches unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

There is a historical and physical land of Babylon. In biblical days, Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar took the Southern kingdom, Judah, into captivity to Babylon. Today, physical Babylon encompasses the area of Iraq. There is a political Babylonian system. Today the entity that expresses and manifests political Babylon is the United Nations. Should Christians follow the Torah? What does Paul say in the book of Galatians? We are looking at this book from a first century, Hebraic perspective, and looking at it from a "Torah Principles" mindset.

In this segment, Eddie picks up in Galatians 4:21 where Paul writes:

"Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?"

This phrase, to be "under the law", does not mean that you are following the law, it means "you are following the law incorrectly."

Yeshua address this issue in John 10:1, when He says:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." In other words, if you are trying to get into the Father's house by following the rabbinic teachings and Oral law and religious self righteousness, then you are like a thief and a robber. Later in John 10:9, Yeshua says:

"I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." Yeshua IS the DOOR. He is the living Torah made flesh. We are to follow the Torah by His spirit.

A common misunderstanding in traditional Christianity is this: That once we are saved by grace through faith, that we don't have to follow the Torah...that it has been "done away with." Paul addresses this question head on in Romans 3: 28-31, where he states:

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid! On the contrary, we ESTABLISH the law(Torah)." We are saved by grace through faith, and then AFTER that, because we love Him and we want to keep His commands, His Torah by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. When Paul talks about "under the law" he is referring to those who are following the Pharisaic/rabbinic perspective, where the Oral Law/rulings/teachings of the rabbis SUPERCEDES the written Torah of Yeshua Messiah. This leads to trying to establish our own self righteousness instead of being covered in the righteousness of Messiah Yeshua.

The reason why Galatians has been so misunderstood is because if we dont know the Torah and we don't know the issue that Paul is addressing. Two commonly misunderstood phrases are: "under the Law", and "works of the Law". When you decode these phrases, what it means is this: those who are following after Pharisaic/rabbinic Judaism.

Paul writes in Galatians 3:26 that we are baptized (immersed) in Messiah Yeshua. We are identified in His death, burial and resurrection. We are dead to sin and alive to God in Yeshua. Sin is defined as transgressing/breaking the law/the Torah. So, if we are dead to sin, then we will NOT be breaking the Torah, but instead, we will be following and keeping the Torah by the Spirit of Yeshua our Messiah!

We have been going through the passages in the book of Galatians putting it into the Hebraic context and with eyes and mindset of the first century. The essential issue that Paul was debating was this: not IF one was to follow the Torah (that was a given) but HOW to follow the Torah.

Paul was passionate about the Torah. He was passionate that people would see that Yeshua was the Messiah. He was passionate that people would follow the Torah by the Spirit. Paul was speaking to the non-Jews in Galatia who were seeking to follow the Torah by "works of the Law" and being "under the law". This is CODE for seeking to follow the Torah through the Pharisaic understanding of the Torah where the rabbis have the authority instead of Yeshua.

Paul is passionate in getting his point across. We do not walk out our faith in Yeshua by following the Pharisaic/rabbinic Judaism. Instead, Paul is passionately telling us that we are to follow Yeshua's Torah by the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 3:21 states: "Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law."

The law he is referring to here is not the written Torah. The context is "works of the law". We are not justified or made righteous by our works of the law. He is comparing and contrasting "works of the law" to the "promises of God" that are received by faith as seen in Abraham's life. (Gal 3:14)

The new covenant is the Torah written upon our heart (Jer. 31:31-33)

The Holy Spirit was given to us to lead us, guide us, and help us to follow the Torah by the spirit. Paul testifies that he follows the Torah and he said that both Jew (circumcised) and nonJew (uncircumcised) should follow the Torah. Does Galatians teach us that Christians are not to follow the Torah?

"Under the law" and "works of the law" is CODE for following the ORAL torah and teachings, and pharasaic Judaism of the rabbis!
