She was not able to get a medical exemption from her doctor or her employer even though she had a previous heart condition. Her union, SEIU was no help ether. She started having problems after the first shot, and was very concerned about taking the second, but wasn’t considered “fully vaccinated” until sh got it. He problems were amplified with the second shot. She is now no longer able to work. She shared her story with me.

  • #341 “How to prevent the next Alex Jones”? The left has some ideas…

Hilarious column in the NYT from columnist Zeynep Tufecki, who wants to “Prevent the Next Alex Jones”. Of course his “ideas” require censorship of anything HE disagrees with or considers “misinformation”. They always do.

“The work of civilization is not just discovering and unleashing new and powerful technologies, it is also regulating and shaping them, and crafting norms and values through education and awareness, that make societies healthier and function better. We are late to grapple with all of this, but late is better than never.”

  • #340 Animal Foundation Volunteer speaks out about shelter procedures

The Animal Foundation (local shelter) in Vegas has come under fire for a long time for many reasons, most of them deserved. For many years it was run by a corrupt woman, who was later charged (along with her daughter) with crimes involving another animal shelter in another state after being run out of Vegas. Then the shelter was run by a woman whose girlfriend was the City Manager! No conflict there….

In fairness, it’s not the fault of ANY shelter the people are breeding dogs they shouldn’t breed, dumping sick animals on their doorstep, etc, and when I worked there years ago, I cried EVERY night on my way home, because I couldn’t save them all. It’s a heartbreaking business, but it can be run better than they are doing currently. Many bighearted people donate, hold fundraisers, etc, because they don’t want to deal with the harsh reality of what it means to have too many animals that no one wants, or too many sick or otherwise unadoptable animals. No, every animal can’t be saved. Sorry.

Recently Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman stopped by the shelter unannounced and found what she called “appalling conditions”. We talked about it on my “Headlines with Heidi!” series. See that video HERE. Now more volunteers are speaking out. Kathy, a retired neonatal RN, who was helping with the neonatal kittens, joined me to share her story.

  • #339 Pastor goes soft on same-sex marriage, loses his church

A pastor in Washington State lost his congregation and likely his ordination because he went soft on the issue of same-sex marriage. He wrote an interesting blog post recently, defending his position. I felt the need to respond, not as a theologian, but as a common sinner, having to fight temptation to sin in various ways every day in my own life.

There are many Christians who look down on gay people while they themselves gossip, cheat on their taxes, cheat on their spouses, and commit myriad other sins. ALL sin misses the mark. Period. To tell your congregation that a particular category of sin isn’t anymore, because “times have changed” or you’ve “evolved on the issue…” does them a disservice.

  • #336: How to fix the Animal Foundation (and shelters in general)

The Animal Foundation, one of the shelters in Clark City, is coming under fire again for its practices. When I worked there years ago, it was totally corrupt, and it sounds like things haven’t improved, based on City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman’s recent unannounced visit to the facility. I chatted with her about that last week. You can find that interview HERE:  https://rumble.com/v1k8yu3-headlines-with-heidi-problems-at-the-animal-foundation-in-las-vegas.html

  • #335: Gang Expert Richard Valdemar on the cartels controlling our border under Biden

Richard Valdemar, who spent 33 years with the LA County Sheriffs Department, specializing in gangs, joined me recently in Washington DC at the FAIR immigration “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event. We talked about the border disaster under Biden, how cartels are controlling it, what’s happening with so-called “legal” marijuana, fentanyl and human trafficking. We also talked about the ONE time the border was CLOSED, and the reason the United States did it.

He writes for Police Magazine, among other places.
