In a recent column in the Federalist, Mary Rose Kulczak says, “If Your kids Are Unhappy Take Them To Church!” We make time to tell them how great they are and take them to dance class, sports, tutors and to psychologists when social media makes them depressed, but we don’t bother with what would make them understand their creation and purpose, and give their lives TRUE meaning. Try it. It just might help.

How could living in an AI world be dangerous? Let us count the ways. How is living in an artificial world harmful? How is it different than other ways people try to escape from the real world? Drinking, drugs, gambling, shopping….?

Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, has expressed his concerns. Interesting that he calls the metaverse a “false god”? The Bible talks a lot about those. Of course most of the Big Tech guys don’t care about the other ways their products hurt us.

A veteran police officer and tactics expert and police trainer joined me to talk about the Tyre Nichols case. Marcus Martin spent 24 years as a Las Vegas police officer, a city that sees 40 million tourists come into town each year, beyond the over 2 million residents. Las Vegas Metro Police deal with all kinds of situations.

Marcus is an expert in several martial arts, and continues to train new officers. I asked him to join me for his perspective on the Tyre Nichols case, and how police handled it. We also touched on the Derek Chauvin case involving George Floyd, and some aspects of the case I hadn’t heard.

We also discussed the problem of police officers who aren’t trained or not in shape, and therefore not able to subdue someone humanely in many cases.

The GOP has a problem appealing to single women, who are a huge voting block, and getting larger by the day. Even women who are conservative in some areas find fault with the GOP’s focus on families. They feel left out. Shouldn’t we focus on strong families that form the basis of a strong nation and still include those who aren’t married? How can we change our messaging? We’re better think of something before 2024!
