This story is about Marilu and it's her first time to publicly tell about when she was kidnapped, tortured, and beat up to the point of death. "The Monster", a man she knew, held her captive for three hours. She was able to escape and has taken years to work through her trauma. She can't believe she is alive. Now she is trying to fill the hole he has left by being a victims advocate to empower other abused women to speak out. She is blessed to be surrounded by good friends and family who sustain her. This story is about Julie who lost her daughter Taylor to suicide and started a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention and helping those affected by suicide. Julie's daughter Angela was a drug addict and had two children, so Julie was able to raise her two granddaughters as her own daughters. The children could never understand why their mom chose drugs over them. Now Julie has a mission to talk to people to promote understanding of suicide and give support to those effected by it! She is saving lives by teaching to not be ashamed about mental illness! What message do you get from this interview?

This story is about Jamie who at age 21, was taken against her will by men with AK 47s in Sonora, Mexico. She lives to tell the story! She has now become a drug prevention speaker with a twist by teaching kids & teens how they’re getting their drugs and how their choice to buy illegal drugs causes a ripple effect of crime (like what happened to her). She also I went through 8 years of IVF with nothing but miscarriages as the outcome, and her one son was born premature and passed away. She ended up needing to quit her job to be a full time caretaker for her son for the first few years.
