Boston Blackie was a fictional character created by author Jack Boyle. Before he became a detective, he was a jewel thief and safecracker... he became an "enemy to those who make him an enemy, friend to those who have no friend." Series ran from June 23, 1944 on NBC with Richard Kollmar taking over the role as Blackie in April of 1945. Over 200 episodes were produced, ending in October of 1950. Maurice Tarplin played a scatterbrained Police Inspector named Farraday... who was consistently amazed that Blackie solved mysteries that he could not solve. In my collection of old recordings... I came across this recording of President John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Speech that he delivered on January 20, 1961 - 58 years ago. Listening to this speech is an uplifting experience. To those who do not remember him, his words still have great meaning and power... and to those who do remember him, comparing his dignity, intelligence and respect for the office of the President, to the man who currently holds the office, is a troublesome, unnerving, sad experience.

This is a parody show that I created at WSCA-LP Portsmouth Community Radio in 2007. The idea was to feature a cooking show on radio... with the guest being Vidalia VanDam, better known as "The Bench Chef" as she supposedly cooked on an old plywood bench set up by radio station engineers ... and she often had a little too much cooking sherry... (Photo is not Vidalia VanDam as she does not exist but in my mind!) This is a program I wrote and created just for fun. Hope you like it.
