Rebroadcast of a 1937 and 1943 production of the Supernatural-Horror Thriller series, "Light's Out" - originally written and produced by Wyllis Cooper after 1936, Arch Oboler(photo)took over the series that continued until 1947. The show aired at midnight. "Lord Marley's Guest" is introduced and then "Light's Out everybody!' starts the show. By comparison of today's horror thrillers, these stories seem very tame, but try to imagine yourself 3 generations ago sitting in a dark room at midnight, with the radio the center of your attention... the glowing tubes casting shadows on the walls and furniture... and the show begins... many of these stories really did frighten listeners... their imaginations were unbridled by no pictures, just sounds and dialog.
