He was dubbed "The Robin Hood of the Old West" The show began out of WOR, New York and were widely syndicated. The series ran on radio from 1947-56 and appeared on television and in films as well. Great way to start off the New Year... on January 1st, 1953 as "NBC Stars in Jazz" hosted by Fred Collins from 52nd Street and Broadway in NYC and Birdland... with Count Basie and his Orchestra.
