On August 21, 2017 seventy year old Larry Schulman was home alone sleeping in his upstairs bedroom at his home on Outer Bridge Lane in the Providence Commons area, an affluent suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Then at around 3:00 a.m. Larry was woken up in a daze, and found someone on top of him, brutally beating him with a gun.  Larry soon realized he wasn't the only victim in the house. Down the hall, his son, Josh, was fatally shot.
