On April 28, 1908 Joe Maxson smelled smoked in Belle Gunness' home. He runs out of his bedroom calling for her and her children...no one answers him. Joe jumps from his second-story room and rushes into town. By the time he gets back to the home, the place cannot be saved. When the flames were extinguished, Belle was no where to be found. She had a history of setting houses on fire and dating men who would mysteriously go missing. Did Belle set her own house on fire or was this an act of revenge?
