Virginia Smith Haden (86) passed away on February 19, 2024 and leaves behind a legacy of faith in God and devotion to her family and friends. She was an excellent baker, cook, decorator, seamstress, and gardener. Her homemade bread and chocolate pie could not be beat, and her azaleas and rose bushes were always immaculately cared for. She set the bar for decorating at Christmas, usually managing to fit more ornaments on her tree than most people could fathom. Pauline M. Sorensen, 90, of Highland Springs, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was an administrative assistant at St. John’s Catholic Church where she was a member for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Florida McMahon; father, Frederick McMahon; sister, Barbara Fitzgerald; and brother, Paul McMahon. She is survived by her children, Steven M. This week, Crime Stoppers needs the public’s help in locating a fugitive out of Henrico County. Henrico Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Latiek L. Savoy, who is currently wanted for several violations of law. Savoy has outstanding warrants for attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and vandalism. The first new park for Varina in more than 40 years is nearing completion. "We're going to reap the benefits of being forward-thinking,” Henrico County Supervisor Tyrone Nelson, one of the project’s biggest cheerleaders, said.
