The Shepherd's Center of Richmond, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing lifelong learning opportunities for older adults, will begin the winter session of its Open University program Jan. 15. Douglas Wayne Meador, 66, of Sandston, passed away December 28, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Gloria Meador, and elder sister Brenda Jean Meador Lund. Doug is survived by his wife, Sindy, stepdaughters Jennifer Klenzmann and Gabrielle Edwards (Sam), sister Sharon Meador, brother Ronald Meador, as well as several nieces and nephews. The Virginia Department of Transportation will begin pre-treatment operations in parts of Richmond, Goochland, and Henrico counties ahead of the potential winter weather expected over the weekend. The pre-treatment will begin Jan. 4 on I-95, I-64, I-295, and Route 288 in the northern and western areas of the region. Don't park your car at Richmond International Airport. That's the warning two drivers shared after their cars were stolen from the airport's parking garage.
