Henrico Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred in Henrico’s central patrol area. On November 6 at approximately 7:01 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Cliffbrook Lane for a reported shooting. Once on scene, officers located a juvenile male, 17 years of age, and an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds to the legs. Officers immediately started life-saving measures until EMS personnel arrived on scene. Both victims were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries where they continue to receive treatment. Madison Irving and Ryan Young will join the Henrico County School Board after winning contested races in Three Chopt District and Fairfield District. In an election that seemed to solidify Henrico's continuing political shift to the left, two Democrats flipped seats on the Henrico Board of Supervisors that had been held by Republicans for decades, giving Democrats a 4-1 majority on the board. The Henrico Sports & Events Center will host its first Division 1 college basketball game Monday, Dec. 11, featuring the women’s basketball teams from VCU and the University of Delaware. More than 62,000 Virginians ventured out to the polls on a sunny November day for the last chance to vote early. The early voting period saw 776,931 votes cast, with most of it done in person, according to data from the Virginia Public Access Project. Absentee mail-in ballots are still being accepted.
