Deep Run High School Last Friday, the Deep Run football squad completed its final game of the season, dropping a 35-15 contest to the Godwin Eagles (6-3). Throughout the duration of the game, the Wildcats were very much still within striking distance of winning. Henrico County experienced 78 fatal overdoses from illicit drugs in 2022 – more than double the number of motor vehicle deaths and also double the number of homicides. To combat the issues related to drug abuse and overdoses, Henrico County officials in 2016 created the Addiction Task Force, a group focused on proactively lowering fatal overdoses. The force was developed to gather information from police and mental health professionals about the effects of opioid usage in the county. The parents of Lucia Bremer, a 13-year-old student at Quioccasin Middle School who was shot and killed while walking home from school, made a public comment on Thursday supporting the Henrico School Board’s legislative priorities for school and student safety. June Shortt Hill, 92, of Highland Springs, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator.
