A Henrico teenager killed in a notorious Richmond neighborhood is being remembered as a protector who was about to attend college, according to his family. Officers were called to the 1300 block of Saint James Street in Richmond’s Gilpin Court neighborhood for a shooting report on Monday night, officials with Richmond Police said. The Autism Society of Central Virginia (ASCV) has designated all four KidMed Pediatric Urgent Care centers as “Autism Friendly Communities.” KidMed is the first for-profit organization to receive the designation. Henrico Schools will carry out a “thorough” legal review and community discussion about whether to adopt Virginia's new model policies regarding transgender students, according to the official spokesperson of Henrico Schools. Dozens of people gathered throughout Richmond International Airport Wednesday to give a grand sendoff to a group of World War Two veterans. The veterans, around 20 plus their family members, were a part of the Gary Sinise Foundation's "Soaring Valor" program that takes veterans to the National World War Two Museum where their oral histories will be recorded.
