RUTH ELLEN DOERING (née WEIRICH), 90, passed away on April 27, 2021. Daughter of Arthur L. and Edna M. Weirich (née Joss), Ruth was born in Massillon OH on August 20, 1930. PENICK, Ellen Kidd Woods, 85, passed away on April 29th. Born in Richmond in 1935, she was the daughter of Lydia Hamilton Kidd of Baltimore, MD and Leo Miller Kidd of Richmond, and the granddaughter of E.G. Kidd, one of the city's first female entrepreneurs, who founded Pin Money Pickles in 1868. She was an only child, attended boarding school at Warrenton Country School and Grier in Tyron, Pa. Benita Rockeman, 85, of Richmond, died April 30, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harvey Louis and her son David Harvey (Tracey). She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Valerie); daughter, Cheryl; four grandchildren, Jesse, Angel, Jake and Katlyn; and eight great-grandchildren. The Henrico community that's proven the most difficult to vaccinate is the one that sits within eyesight of the region’s most successful vaccination hub, where more than 150,000 doses of vaccine have been administered. Initial unemployment claims in Henrico County returned to lower levels during the most recent reporting week, following a statewide trend a week after a major spike that Virginia Employment Commission officials attributed in part to suspected fraudulent claims. A total of 275 people filed first-time claims in Henrico during the week of April 25-May 1, down from the 657 first-time claims filed in the county the week before.
