Henrico County reported 68 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to the Virginia Department of Health. The seven-day moving average dropped to 55 daily cases. There were no new hospitalizations related to the virus, but there were six new deaths, according to VDH data. The seven-day moving average of reported deaths reached 12 on Friday, but this increase is largely from backlogged death certificates from the post-holiday surge that are currently being processed. Morris, Dr. Joseph Richard (Dick) departed this life on February 22, 2021. Dick was a graduate of Hermitage High School, class of 1953; Captain of his company of cadets at Virginia Tech (1957), where he received two degrees in Engineering; and of the University of Alabama, where he received two degrees in Mathematics.
