ChamberRVA is hosting two virtual information sessions this week to connect employers with employees in the region. On Feb. 11, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the organization will host sessions with Reynolds Community College's Re-Employing Virginia initiative and Greater Richmond Workforce Coalition's Network2Work. These two workforce initiatives are aimed at introducing employers in RVA with prospective employees. Henrico County officials are planning to reward county employees in a big way for their efforts during the pandemic, and in general. Henrico County Manager John Vithoulkas tonight is proposing a -million series of pay raises, adjustments and bonuses beginning in April and continuing through October that will result in at least a 4.4% raise for all eligible employees – about 11,000 in total – and more for many others, the Citizen has learned. Henrico Police arrested and charged a 28-year-old Richmond man with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with a Jan. 23 shooting in northern Henrico that left a 29-year-old city man dead. Anthony Ivory Cook, Jr. is being held without bond in the Henrico County jail after being charged in the shooting, which happened at about 6:30 p.m. along Delmont Street, between Laburnum Avenue and Crawford Street near Richmond Raceway. Henrico County reported 133 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to the Virginia Department of Health, an increase from the day before, when new cases had settled into the double-digit range at just 81. The seven-day average of new daily cases in the county declined slightly Tuesday to 139. Henrico reported three new virus-related hospitalizations and two new deaths Tuesday from complications related to the virus, according to the VDH. Confusion reigned Tuesday morning, as Virginians attempted to sign up for COVID-19 vaccinations through CVS on what was – then wasn’t – then was again the company’s first day of vaccination registration in the state. CVS and federal officials last week had announced that the pharmacy chain would open registration Tuesday for Virginians who wanted to be vaccinated and that it would begin vaccinations Friday at 36 state locations (including one in Henrico), using 26,000 doses provided by the federal government. Henrico Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing 39-year-old county man who was last seen Jan. 17. The family of Tyrone Allen Jones reported him missing Jan. 24 from a residence on Taft Street and said he had left the house a week earlier at about 4:30 a.m. in an unknown vehicle. Family members told police that it was unusual behavior for Jones and that it was not like him to be out of touch with them for so long. A multifamily housing development with as many as 365 units could be coming to Innsbrook, if the Henrico Board of Supervisors approves plans from Dominion Realty Partners, LLC Feb. 9.
