Dear Family,

We will be completing our Message Series on the Life Changing Power of GOD'S Word this Sunday. Through this series many of you have made a commitment to read GODS word daily. It only takes 21 days to repeat something so that it becomes a habit and only 35 days of doing something until it is harder to stop that to keep doing it. I encourage you to keep going!

As you continue to read GOD'S word it will change your life. I want to do a little wrap up this week and talk about how do I keep on keeping on? How do I maintain a heart for GOD'S word? How do I apply what I am learning in the Bible to my everyday life to get this most out of it?

Jesus said, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples: then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. “ He said if you continue in my word then you are my disciple.

How do I integrate GOD'S word into every area of my life?

Do you know what integration means? It is the opposite of segregation. Segregation means to separate into separate groups. When you take the pieces of the pie and say, this is my personal life, this is my church life, this is my business life and here is my social life, then you live a segregated life.

You don’t have an integrated life: which means you lack integrity. The word integrity come for the same word as integrated. To have integrity means you live your life integrated, a whole. You don’t act one way at home and another way at church. You don’t act one way with a group of people over here and another way with a group over here. To act the same in all areas as whole life is an integrated or a life of integrity.

I want to live that kind of life.

I want you to live that kind of life.

I want to invite you to join me as I show you how to do that.

You can become a man of the word, a woman of the word. We will see how to take the Bible and build on it, feed on it, live by it, act on it and trust in it.

Happy New Year! Even bigger than that, Happy New Decade! We don’t get to say that very often.

As we begin a New Decade I need to make a confession to you. More than anything else, I need GOD in 2020. I need more of GOD’s presence and power in my life. I really mean it. I need GOD more than I need more money. I need GOD more than I need another car. I need GOD more than I need more “stuff”. I need GOD more than I need anything else in this world. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of GOD and HIS righteousness and all of these things will be added to you.” He is saying that if I make my relationship with the LORD the 1st place everything will come into order. But GOD has to be 1st place.

While I believe this with all of my heart, the questions begs, “What am I going to do about it?” A vibrant, passionate relationship with GOD for me will only come if I make it a priority in my life. It wont fall out of the sky and magically appear. Or it wont happen by me just wishing it will. It will only come if I make a conscious choice to pursue HIM and decide the steps that I will take in 2020 to make it happen. And a real problem that I have is I drift. Yea I drift. I easily and frequently drift from my pursuit of GOD even though I am so blessed when I don’t. Do you drift? I would like for us to ask ourselves these questions and be real.

What is my commitment to worship going to look like in 2020? When time permits? On occasion? Or every Sunday possible?

It can be game changer for 2020.

What is my commitment to Bible reading and personal devotion going to look like in 2020? Will you commit to reading the Bible with a devotion guide each day over the next year? Did you know the church provides a free, powerful, bible based devotion that is available in our Living Room? Why don’t you pick one up this Sunday? Have you ever read through the NT or whole bible in year? There will be bible reading guides to accomplish this in our Living Room. I want to challenge you to make a commitment to read your bible this year. Get started!

Will you commit to get involved in one of our small groups? How about attending the Emmaus Walk this year? Join a mission trip/ team ?Ask someone how life transforming one of these can be.

Will you commit to serve in one of the ministries at HCC? Or on one of community outreaches?

Have you drifted from GOD? Are you as passionate about GOD and pursuing HIM in your life as want to be? Are you ready to get back on track? Then, I want to invite you to join me as I share GOD's prescription for “Stopping the Drift” and staying the course.
