An essential truth that we tend to forget is that we simply can’t follow Jesus at a sprint. It is impossible to think what Jesus would think, feel what Jesus would feel and do what he would do in a hurry. Hurry keeps us from living and loving well.
Hurry is a great enemy of our spiritual growth. Our connection with God is intended to produce great joy! It’s sad but for so many Christians, joy is a lost trait. Yet it’s impossible to truly know God until we understand that He is the happiest, most joy filled being in the universe. Not only that but God longs for us to be filled with His joy. Joy is so essential that God commands His people to be joyful. Do you feel hurried and driven in life? Do you feel that you are experiencing the joy filled life that God has made available to you? I want to invite you to join me as we continue our church wide study, THE LIFE YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED, and I share some simple practices to help you overcome “hurry sickness” and live a more joy filled lives. It’s not too late to join the fellowship and learning in one of our small groups that are meeting throughout the week. If you are willing to “turn aside” your life can be transformed.
