I’m taking you inside my actual travel wellness kit; not just a random list of products, but the reason each one earns a spot.
Because when you’re traveling, you don’t need everything you own. You need a few versatile tools that can help with the things that actually come up: motion sickness, upset stomachs, sun exposure, scraped knees, poor sleep, unfamiliar hotel rooms, sore muscles, and kids who suddenly need something the second the seatbelt sign turns on. 😅
My Core Four Travel Oils
These four never leave my travel bag:
🌿 Lavender
My most versatile travel oil for calming emotions, soothing skin after sun or bug bites, supporting bedtime, and helping with everyday bumps and scrapes.
🫧 Tea Tree
My first step when the skin gets broken: cuts, scraped knees, blisters, or little vacation mishaps.
🤍 Frankincense
One of my favorites for head bumps, tension, and those moments when both the child and the parent need to calm down.
❄️ Peppermint
Helpful for cooling down after a hot day, head tension, and taking the edge off a queasy stomach during car, boat, or plane travel.
Together, they cover four basic jobs: calm, cleanse, soothe, and cool.
Motion Sickness + Digestive Support
For car rides, boat trips, amusement parks, and travel stomachs, I like to keep:
- Ginger
- Peppermint
- DigestZen oil, softgels, or chewable tablets
- MetaPWR Gum
Ginger is one of my favorite “before travel” oils, while peppermint is easy to inhale when someone starts feeling off.
DigestZen is helpful when I want one blend that supports several different digestive concerns; especially when vacation food looks a little different than what we normally eat at home.
My Five-Minute Hotel Room Reset
Before I unpack, I make the room feel familiar.
I set up a diffuser with On Guard, Harvest Spice, Lavender, or Serenity, lightly mist the bedding and pillows, and wipe down the areas we’ll be using.
It’s not about pretending a diffuser sterilizes an entire hotel room. It’s about replacing that stale, unfamiliar smell with something clean and recognizable.
Smell connects directly to the part of the brain tied to memory and emotion. So when your family smells the same Lavender or Serenity they use at home, the nervous system recognizes it.
Sun, Skin + Destination Support
I always think ahead and ask:
What could we run into at this destination?
- Beach: sun, wind, dehydration, scraped knees
- Lake: mosquitoes, ticks, blisters
- Mountains: sore muscles, changing weather, outdoor exposure
- Flights: dry skin, poor sleep, motion sickness
A few of my travel staples include:
☀️ Mineral sunscreen and After Sun spray
🦟 TerraShield Outdoor Blend
🩹 Correct-X
✨ Helichrysum
💙 Deep Blue Rub or Stick
🧴 A good moisturizer
My Simple First-Aid Formula
For everyday cuts and scrapes:
- Cleanse with Tea Tree
- Soothe with Lavender
- Protect with Correct-X
That simple three-step routine handles a surprising amount of childhood. 😅
Helichrysum also stays in my kit for bruises, knots, and tissue support, while Deep Blue earns its space for sore muscles, stiff necks, unfamiliar mattresses, and the recreational activities we suddenly think we can still do on vacation.
Don’t Abandon Your Foundations
Travel is not the time to stop doing the things that normally help you feel well.
I still bring my:
- VMG+
- Omegas
- PB Restore or PB Assist
- TerraZyme
- Copaiba softgels
Different foods, schedules, water, and routines can throw the digestive system off quickly. Enzymes help break down food, probiotics support the gut, and Copaiba helps support a balanced inflammatory response.
How I Pack It
✈️ Flying:
I keep the Core Four, digestive support, Ginger, Helichrysum, Correct-X, sun care, sticks, gum, and chewables where I can reach them — not in the overhead bin.
🚗 Driving:
I add the larger diffuser, foaming hand wash, Abode concentrate, full-size Deep Blue products, and the foundational supplements we’ll use throughout the trip.
The biggest rule is simple: do not pack the things you may need immediately in the trunk or overhead compartment.
Start with the Core Four this week:
Lavender. Tea Tree. Frankincense. Peppermint.
Then add one useful product every time you travel. Before long, you’ll have a kit that fits your family and helps you feel prepared instead of helpless.
