Isaiah 28:29 says, “This also comes from the Lord of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.”
Psalm 25:4 says, “Make me to know your ways O Lord, teach me your paths.
Get lined paper and write down all you need to do that week.
What happens each afternoon or evening? Then break it down by day. Look at this evening and tomorrow, what do you have to do? Dinner, and any practices or games, write them down with travel time. Look at the time in between. Can laundry wait? What can wait? How much time are you scrolling each day? What’s keeping you “busy” instead of intentional? Ask the Lord to reveal to you what can wait and what needs done right now.
Here’s an example schedule:
Wake at 5:45- water. pray and read.
6:00-banana
6:30-walk
7:00-breakfast and shower
7:45-leave
8:30-12-work
12-plan dinner, grocery list, schedule pick up or delivery
12:30-short walk
1-5-work
5:30-home, dinner is prepped so warm up
6-family time or practice or game
8- home, pray with family, kids to bed
8:30-quiet time
8:45-clean up toys, prep for tomorrow
9:15-9:30 bed
This is a starting point for someone who works out of the house, notice I didn’t schedule social media time. You don’t need it. It’s sucking your time and wasting your life. If you want 5 minutes at lunch and in the evening, knock yourself out, but ask yourself what’s important.
You better have prayer time, study, workout, food prep, shower and family time prioritized before ever worrying about what’s going on in someone else’s life. Who cares? Take control of your time, take control of your life.
You can schedule time blocking in 30-60 minute increments or longer if need be. Ask the Lord and He will show you.
Lord, I am not in control of my time. I mean, I am but the way I want to be. I want you to direct my time Lord, my path, my choices. Help me to take responsibility for how I spend my time, however much that may be from day to day. Give me the strength to stay off social media, mindlessly scrolling when I could be moving my body, spending time with You and my loved ones and prepping food. Lead me Lord, this feels weird but I know it will benefit me in the long run. I want to honor You in all I do Jesus, help me as I shift my perspective and thank You for being so patient with me, it’s in Your Holy Name I pray. Amen.
Your Action Step for the week is to do an analysis of where you’re spending your time and create a one day time blocking schedule that makes sense for where you are. If you need help the BWLF is there for you! We go deep in this area to be sure you’re making the most of what you’ve got.
