"How to Restore Harmony in Your Home" Part 2 of Strengthening Your Family. What’s going on in your home? Is there constant bickering and disharmony? Sometimes family members just don’t get along for whatever reason and the resulting atmosphere can harbor conditions of chaos, anger, resentment, etc. Can harmony be restored? You might feel that nothing can help, but you would be wrong. Harmony doesn’t mean sunshine and lollipops all the time. God has a plan for you and your family.

Part 1 of Strengthening Your Family. The scripture reference is Genesis 2:18 and 24. No matter what your family is like, as with all of creation, families were designed by God for a purpose. Families can provide shelter in the time of life's storms. They can also serve as learning centers, places for fun and where ministry begins. Are families perfect? Absolutely not! God has provided a path for strengthening families and over the month of October, we will be talking about it on Sunday morning!

Have you ever experienced a tragedy or failed at something and thought all was lost? You may be thinking "Who me? Fail? Impossible!" Well, the truth is that we all fail at one time or another whether by accident, or because we thought we knew, but didn't. How do you handle failure and tragedy in your life? Do you give up or do you determine to turn tragedy into triumph?

Join us for Sunday morning worship as we welcome guest speaker Randy Shepherd of Crossfire Ministries. Crossfire is a sports evangelistic ministry which shares the gospel message in many ways including at summer basketball camps, exhibition games, youth rallies, school assemblies, college/university games, Upward Banquets, golf tournaments, Holy Land outreach, prison outreach, softball games and tournaments, and personal evangelism.

The apostle Paul was a mentor to Timothy and in his messages to his young charge, he pours out his heart and encourages this young man. He recognized Timothy's sincerity in the faith and encouraged him to be strong. Mentors encourage and recognize the strengths of those whom they mentor. Their hearts are in it! Bruce and Mike are in a series of sermons about mentoring.

Let’s face it, most people like to be part of something. A community...a church...a family. No one likes to be entirely alone. It’s important to be in community! In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians he lets them know that Jesus Christ has equipped us all in different complementary ways so that we can be built up and support each other “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Such unity inspires maturity and strength so that we won’t be blown about by every teaching, but be grounded in the faith. Ephesians 4:11-16.

Have you been "there" and already done "that?" You're in a position to be a mentor. Being a Christian mentor is modeling and teaching other Christians the precepts of the Bible and living a Christ-centered life. Bruce and Mike are in a series of sermons about mentoring to inspire us to mentor others and model a Christ-centered life.

How do you respond when someone asks “How’s your prayer life?” Do you start out with “Uh...well...” Is your prayer life routine or something just checked off from a list? Is it only for emergencies? Prayer is a necessity to the Christians’ walk with God. We cannot neglect our prayer lives and expect to enjoy our relationship with God. Most of us step up our prayer life when we’re in need or a crisis hits. Otherwise we’re just OK. Do you believe there is power in prayer?
