Hero Complex

Welcome to The Hero Complex Podcast—where heroism gets put under the microscope… and occasionally laughed out of the room.

Join Patrick Brusnahan and Adam Greene—two comedy giants with sharp tongues and zero sacred cows—as they tear into the idea of “the hero” from every possible angle. From McDonald’s to mouthwash, from Paris to Putin, nothing escapes scrutiny.

It’s big ideas, small details, and wildly entertaining detours—fueled by camaraderie, curiosity, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

Because in a world obsessed with heroes, it gets a bit complicated. This is The Hero Complex Podcast - it's just a bit of fun - don't worry about it!

Welcome to The Hero Complex Podcast — the only show brave enough to ask the question nobody else will: Who wins in a fight between a teleporting blue mutant and a Serie A–humbled Premier League wizard?

This week, things spiral immediately as Nightcrawler from the X-Men — swashbuckling elf, devout philosopher, part-time smoke machine — whooshes into the studio to face off against Gianfranco Zola, the velvet-footed Chelsea F.C. legend who once made defenders reconsider their career choices. Can teleportation outmaneuvre a perfectly weighted free kick? Can a prehensile tail defend against a man who treated the penalty box like his own Renaissance fresco? These are the questions keeping absolutely no one awake at night — except us.

Presiding over this completely necessary cultural summit is self-styled Soviet comedian Dimitri Bakanov, whose geopolitical analysis of mutant powers and dark humour make him perfect for the pod. Alongside him, Patrick Brusnahan and Adam Greene attempt to maintain disorder, fact-check teleportation physics, and explain the offside rule to a German Catholic superhero from another dimension.

Expect heated debates! It’s comic books. It’s football. It’s existential philosophy. It's The Hero Complex Podcast — where superpowers meet set pieces, and absolutely nobody leaves unscathed.

Welcome, sinners and subscribers, to the Hero Complex Podcast — the only show bold enough to ask the eternal question: What if the Son of God had to throw hands with Halle Berry?

Jesus descends upon your preferred streaming platform facing off against Halle Berry, an Academy Award winner and Jinx with a solid right hook and Catwoman agility.

On the show are apostles of absolute nonsense: comedian Jon Gibbons, who performs miracles nightly by turning silence into awkward laughter; Patrick Brusnahan, whose faith is strong but whose will is weak; and Adam Greene, who doubts everything — especially the audio levels.

Blessed are the listeners… for theirs is the kingdom of content. Welcome to the Hero Complex! Amen.

This week on The Hero Complex Podcast we are joined by the absolutely hilarious Roman Harris, and somehow that energy summons an interdimensional showdown where uber-rapper Drake steps into the ring against Dragonball legend Son Goku. Yes. That sentence just happened.

With your usual chaos merchants and co-hosts Adam Greene and Patrick Brusnahan holding the mics (and barely holding it together), we break down power levels, rap bars, ego stats, anime logic, and the very real question: can chart dominance survive a Kamehameha?

It’s hip-hop vs Saiyan strength, culture clash at maximum volume, and the most irresponsible debate we’ve ever had — so buckle up, smash that subscribe button, and let’s get heroic.

Welcome back to The Hero Complex Podcast!

Patrick Brusnahan and Adam Greene are in the house, and today they’ve invited absolute chaos to the party. Joining them is the brilliant Drum & Bass Camdenite, DJ Pinks—selector of bangers, breaker of genres, and all-around menace to polite conversation.

And because this show has zero respect for the laws of reality, today’s episode throws Amy Winehouse into the ring against Earthworm Jim. Yes. That Amy Winehouse. That Earthworm Jim. One’s a soul legend with a voice that could stop time, the other’s a super-suited annelid with a plasma gun and questionable physics.

Who wins? Nobody. Everybody. Don't worry about it - it's just a bit of fun!

Expect wild arguments, deeply unnecessary hypotheticals, and results so hilarious they may legally qualify as performance art. Buckle up—this is Hero Complex, and things are about to get weird.

Today’s episode is an absolute fever dream. We’ve got special guest funny guy Luke Nixon in the studio as we throw two titans of completely different energies into the arena.

In one corner: Louis Theroux — calm, softly spoken, armed with nothing but polite curiosity and the supernatural ability to make anyone confess to crimes they weren’t planning on admitting today.

In the other: Daffy Duck — pure chaos, unlimited confidence, zero impulse control, and a long history of turning minor inconveniences into full-scale wars.

One hero uses empathy. The other uses dynamite. Both insist they’re the protagonist.

Welcome back to Hero Complex, the only podcast brave (or foolish) enough to ask the question no one needed answered: what if a misunderstood green witch went head-to-head with one of America’s greatest actors.

In this wicked episode, the emerald-skinned icon of outsider power Elphaba Thropp squares off against Robert De Niro, a man whose superpower is making eye contact that feels like a misdemeanour. One defies gravity; the other defies indoor voices. One sings her feelings; the other mutters them while loading a gun very slowly. This is not a fight—it’s a cultural audit.

Guiding us through this ethically questionable showdown are your usual heroic facilitators, Adam Greene and Patrick Brusnahan, two men who have never agreed on anything except that this podcast should absolutely exist. Joining them is today’s guest, the dangerously funny Sarah Mills, here to bring wisdom, chaos, and the kind of observations that make everyone else rethink what they just confidently said.

So grab your broomstick, practice your De Niro method, and prepare for hot takes, bad impressions, and the shocking realization that the real hero… might be whoever survives this episode.
