Jessica Jones 3: A farewell to the Marvel Netflix collaboration. Season one of this series included some of the most beloved themes and character work in these Marvel Netflix shows: Intimate depictions of superheroes being not so super but staying true to their values. Jessica is unapologetically and in-your-face brash, addicted, and compassionate. Her character is a reminder that people are not all good or bad, but a mix of both. She is courageous in her confrontation of her nemesis, Purple Man, in Season one. Face off against her high-powered mother, in season two. I’m excited to see what this series has to offer in this final chapter.

Watchman: Deconstruction was the new construct of the day in 1986 

Hugo award winner (1988) the most exclusive award for a comic book. 

All won best - writer, artist, colorist for the series.

Alan Moore’s other notable works include: The Killing Joke, Swamp Thing. And, V-For Vendetta, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen were both made into movies.

Characters:

Rorshack: Investigator, blatantly disobeys the Keen Act which outlawed superheroes. 

Night Owl (Holis Mason): Uses owl-bases gadgets base off the Blue Beetle (DC) 

Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt): Uses 100% of his brain; runs a corporation; retired as a superhero (anti-hero?)

The Comedian (Edward Blake): Ruthless, nihilistic

Silk Spectre (Sally Jupiter): Romantic partner to Dr. M; her mother was a member a costume wearer  

Doctor Manhattan (Dr. Jon Osterman): Impacted by a radioactive blast. 

“As Night Owl” (Dan Dreiberg) Dresses as Night Owl; flies the ship which is burned to the ground, accompanies Rorshack to confront Veidt. 

What are the major themes of this book? Obviously humanity relationship with nuclear power is represented in Doc M, what other major themes are represented?
