Throughout the month of June we will be re-airing some of our greatest hits from season one! Today's episode is a re-air of episode 13!
Today we have a VERY special guest and her name is... Mom. Just kidding, her name is Mika, but she is Mom to me. She is wife and best friend to Toby and Honey to her grandkids. She is loved by so many and I am elated that our podcast family (that's you!) is getting the chance to glean from this woman's wisdom. Up until this point, Dad has shared a lot about his journey with panic attacks and anxiety. But it has not only been a journey for him, it has also been a journey for my Mom, too. Today she shares her story. She shares how she felt when he first admitted he was struggling, who was her source of comfort, what she has learned along the way, and so much more. This is a side to the story that we don't often get to hear, so lean in and listen close. Oh and also grab some tissues, because I think you'll probably want a few on hand for this episode. Don't forget to also share with someone you know would benefit from listening. There's power in a "me too" moment and we want others to know they're not alone as they love and support someone else who is struggling.

Throughout the month of June we will be re-airing some of our greatest hits from season one! Today's episode is a re-air of episode 8!
In a world full of filtered photos and targeted ads, how can we really see ourselves how God sees us? We are prone to look in the mirror and just see what everyone else sees- to see the things we think are wrong or the things we think need fixing. And then, how do we even begin to help our kids with this same thing, if we struggle with it as adults? Press play and listen in while Bailey and Toby discuss this very topic. I think you will realize that you aren't alone and God sees you just as He made you - as His masterpiece.

When tragedy strikes, in any form, how as parents should we handle it? What do we say to our kids? For me it is easy to freeze up and say nothing because I am unsure of what to do. For others, you may handle it differently. Just a day or two before this episode was recorded, the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas took place. Press play and listen as I talk to Dad candidly about how to stay mentally healthy during times of tragedy.

As we move into the summer, a new season brings fun and excitement! But these types of transitions can also bring about changes that may feel overwhelming or just unknown. In this candid conversation, I talk to Dad about the expectations and pressures I feel as a mom when it comes to summer and how I don't always know how to handle them. To be honest, we recorded this on the first day of summer when all of my kids were home and it made recording a podcast pretty interesting. So you just might hear from a tiny surprise guest! The honest conversation I have with Dad today may include some things that you also feel, but you're nervous to admit or tell someone about. If change is something that tends to affect your mental health or just overwhelms you in general, I hope you listen today and know you aren't alone.

Y'all know what it's like to have an intrusive thought that scares you so badly, you mentally head into a downward spiral? Or you have a child who is so scared of the dark, they won't go in a room on their own? What about a teenager who is about to take on new responsibilities- a job, a move to college, etc- and yet they just don't seem to be themselves? Maybe you keep these "irrational" fears, which seem very rational in the moment, locked up inside and actually don't know where to go from here? Maybe you feel like you're the only one. Well, you aren't. Press play and listen while Dad and I discuss this very real struggle that many of us have as we continue our conversation surrounding Mental Health Awareness month.

As Mental Health Awareness month begins, we are excited to be a part of helpful conversations regarding mental health. We are comfortable talking and sharing about this topic but we know that it is often viewed as a taboo thing to discuss. Today we are going to to begin an ongoing conversation surrounding mental health as we talk about what it looks like when someone is struggling at various ages, how to support them, what to do and what not to do, and more. Press play and listen as me and Dad have a normal but important conversation that we believe is relevant and necessary for everyone.

If we don’t feel worthy of God’s love, of God’s generosity-if we don’t see ourselves the way God sees us, we will never be able to see others the way He sees them. And treating others the way God treats us is really what it’s all about, wouldn’t you agree? It’s the Golden Rule and most people would say “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” But what does that mean for you and me? How can we live out the Golden Rule in our everyday lives? And how can we model this for the kids in our life? Today I call Dad to talk about this topic and I know you're going to want to press play asap!
