Micheal & Andrew celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who with a very special show that celebrates his various different comics adventures. Marvel at the early years when it looked like The Doctor had wandered into a 2000ad strip by mistake, take a gander through one of the finest magazines of its type, Dr Who Magazine, at the comic strips they publish and then pop over to IDW where The Doctor celebrates Christmas and meets the crew of the Enterprise. It’s episode 150!! So, in the usual way Andrew & Micheal spend anniversary episodes, they did no work! So come and spend an hour and a half with them as they just talk! About comics. Collecting, buying and the first comic shops they ever visited. Then, they dig deep into their bulging sack to read emails! This prompts them to listen to GI JOE PSA’S! It’s probably the most riveting conversation you’ll hear all year. Probably! And before you think it can get any better, then Andrew discovers a stack of books and they talk about them. The Batman Vault, The Star Wars Vault, The Spider-Man Vault, The Making of Indiana Jones and other topics of staggering irrelevance. A short email starts off the show. Then Professor Alan e-mails in and it stops being short! After that, Micheal & Andrew continue to delve into the Bat-Catalogue to come up with their all-time favourite Batman stories in this EPIC LENGTH!!! episode. By which I mean Andrew DOESN’T SHUT UP about his stories and this episode runs far, far too long. What you gonna do? Then, Andrew gets even lazier than usual by using the same picture to promote the show. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this may be The Best Episode Yet!

It’s time for another exciting episode of the comics show with an accent as Micheal & Andrew eschew the usual format for the show and take a look at their all-time favourite Batman stories. It’s an eclectic list and not a BEST EVER!!! rather a collection of Batman stories that mean something to us as readers. So flip the switch on the Shakespeare bust, head to the Bat-Poles, bring the atomic batteries to speed and the Turbines to power and settle in for part one of two.

Yes, to celebrate Micheal’s 18th birthday Godzilla and Otta Murikami join in to trash Tokyo (and most of the rest of the world) in the 5 part IDW series – The Half Century War. Listen and wonder as Micheal explains his love of the gargantuan monster and Andrew nods sagely trying to remember those old Toho movies he saw as a kid as this mixture of youthful exuberance and blind ignorance combine to make our greatest episode yet!!!

What on Earth does Magnum The Barbarian 2099 have to do with this week’s episodes? Is it a bizarre cosplayer? An 80’s cartoon? Or proof that Micheal & Andrew needed meds? Anyway, all of that is tossed to one side once CONAN THE CIMMERIAN strides into view. Gasp at the fact neither Andrew or Micheal had read any Conan before or watched one of the movies. Wonder what their choices of story are to be? Wonder no more as it is revealed – The Frost Giants Daughter from SAVAGE TALES #1 & RED NAILS from SAVAGE TALES 2 & 3. We don’t bury the lede. And then sit back and listen as two men marvel over how much simpler life must have been in a land were the stroke of a sword and the fall of a head solved most problems, men where men, women were also men and people wore very little. Feeling that they didn’t say enough nice things about Darwyn Cooke the last time they covered some of his work, the really rather magnificent NEW FRONTIER, they turn their attention to his latest opus – an adaption of the Richard Stark novels featuring PARKER. In no ways a hero, even of his own story, Parker – The Hunted is one of the finest pieces of Graphic Literature of the past few years and Micheal & Andrew try to explain why.
