Hey Riverside! Podcast 0103: Riverside Music series with Lora Pagani, Remy Toler and David Taub of Late For The Party. Wednesday, June 15th 2016. The Riverside music scene has never been more diverse. The number of genres you can hear from clubs, coffeehouses and garages is increasing exponentially. There has also been a distinct broadening of the age spectrum among local songwriters. Artists who were active in the '80s and '90s are again (or still) writing, recording, and performing new material. Late For The Party (Lora Pagani, Remy Toler, and David Taub) is three local music veterans reclaiming their creative groove. Ralph and the band talk about the old days (you'll recognize so many of their old projects), the years in between, and the twists and turns of fate that brought them together last year. Their live show is not shy and you'll have your choice of great hooks to play back in your head on the way home. The guys break out the post-poll roundup and discuss the dynamic$ that influenced the hometown races. Rumblings of dissatisfactions are emanating from the local musos concerning a longtime Downtown venue...and the Riverside Airport welcomes their long-awaited beacon replacement (shine the light!). Mr. Perry and Mr. Burnard save La Sierra's 4th of July show...and we have a great idea for further funding by the people. Get your refreshment on at the I.E. Beer and Music Festival, cheer on the Mayor and Council at the annual Fairmount Park Regatta, and get into the summer spirit with concerts and movies in the park(s). Ralph rants about his councilperson's questionable exploitation of the homeless to push a city measure (NO ON A!) and Patrick makes it clear why all but one Mayoral candidate lost his support. Yes, the weather will be hot this weekend but you won't want to miss an exhilarating examination of our options on the June ballot. Also: the video version is a thing! Yes, the response was tremendous so expect a live stream of the audio recording to happen most Tuesdays or Thursdays. And really - even though it's going to be a scorcher you can find good live music, theater, nature events and more (indoors AND outdoors)...so go get your weekend on! HEY!
