Also: it's an amazing week for kids and bugs with a lesson to save the monarch butterfly at 2nd Saturdays while Discovery Days breaks out the roaches at the Riverside Metropolitan Museum (make new friends). Adults, you too can Know Your Ants with tips from a UCR Entomology Assistant Professor. Did we mention Alton Brown and Jewel at the Fox? We love this town!

We give it a thorough airing (the calendar kicks in around 24:00). We have another beautiful weekend on tap with the beloved Show & Go taking over Downtown. It's a short walk across the arroyo to the RCC Quad for Saturday's Green Festival and Summit. City Manager John Russo's band breaks it out for the animals and our friend Terry Boyles celebrates a milestone with a completely musical kind of benefit. Is this town great or what?

Ralph and Pat went to the Mayoral Forum...Dan Bernstein led the audience in singing 'Happy Birthday' to Pat. It's no wonder the guys have quite a bit to say about it! The actual calendar starts about 22 minutes in...but you don't want to miss the commentary. It's a big Spring weekend with the Riverside Tamale Festival taking center stage. One of the largest lineups of local bands in recent history take over Back to The Grind in support of Senator Sanders and you can get your Tex-Mex on with the legendary Texas Tornados at the UCR University Theatre. That roaring sound is coming from the March ARB airshow. Please don't tell us there's nothing to do in Riverside!

Hey Riverside! Podcast 0092: Riverside Weekend series with Ralph Torres and Patrick Maloney. Friday, April 8th 2016. It's a wide, expansive show this week...from the theater stages to the parkways there's a full calendar of fun in the podcast. Ralph and Pat talk about Monday's Mayoral Forum at La Sierra High School (they'll be there helping out), last Tuesday's Elvis Costello show at the Fox, and a measure on the City ballot that needs a good airing out (and a good rejection). All kinds of great live music all over town including another hip lineup out at Papa Joe's Pizza (not Downtown!) and a set by UK's The Darkness at the Muni.
