Annie, Jo & André review Washington Spirit's 2-2 draw away at Racing Louisville!

They start off by playing and reacting to postgame audio from head coach Mark Parsons, then Andi Sullivan with a cameo from a very hoarse Ashley Hatch. Parsons discuss the 'tale of two halves' narratives then discusses process and results, while Sullivan explains why the draw didn't feel reminiscent of last season before heaping praise on rookie midfielder Paige Metayer.

Then the crew chat about their perspectives on the game, including how much of the new Spirit we actually saw, Hatch's two goals (one away from a Hatch trick), who on Louisville caused the most problems, shout out some top performers, plus a lot more!

The Washington Spirit opened up 2023 with a 1-0 dub over last year's NWSL Shield winners, OL Reign!

In this episode you'll hear from Annie Elliott who was there an hour and half before kickoff to get a feel for the vibe and talk us through all of the fun the Spirits had planned for opening day. Then we move on to discussing the game, where you'll hear from Mark Parsons, Trinity Rodman and Aubrey Kingsbury. Parsons discusses having to adjust and admitting that this wasn't the style they worked on all preseason but how important it was to adapt, Rodman discussing the team's mentality to hold onto the win plus her celebration gone wrong, and Kingsbury on keeping a clean sheet and making that fabulous save on Jordyn Huitema.
