Sparked by a Billy Penn article and a search for a way to give back to the community, he founded PHLOpenType, a growing collective of Philadelphia based designers seizing an opportunity to design for good while showing their love for the city they live in. Designers from all over the city have started developing fonts based on the neighborhoods around the city, and on July 7th the first five fonts – Point Breeze by Phil, Bourse by Kosal Sen, Vasa by Danny Kane, Roxborough by Manny Gonzalez and Callowhill by Mike Balcerzak – will be available at PHLOpenType.com. Phil and Ryan chat about all of this plus happy hours, Sixers and immersing yourself in the neighborhood you live in.

...on the spirit of revolution. Conrad Benner is a photographer and champion of street artists with his blog, Streets Dept., where he documents the ephemeral street art around Philadelphia and celebrates the artists behind these compelling pieces. Conrad talks about the early days of Streets Dept. as well as to discuss Revolutionary: A Pop-Up Street Art Exhibition; a six-week exhibition of 13 contemporary Philly based artists installed at 13 locations across Philadelphia’s Historic District.
