It seems as though I have been spending some time abroad. This week I catch up with my old friend ALBERTO ALONSO in Madrid, Spain.  Alberto has had a long professional career, he’s worked as a director, writer, actor, singer, presenter, teacher, interpreter, and voice over artist. He’s also written the hit books: English Everywhere, This Book Is The Milk & This Book is the ReMilk, English On The Go!  He has also appeared on many popular TV and radio shows: El Hormiguero, Dani & Flo, English On The Go, RNE, La Ser, Cope, Melodia FM, etc. Alberto also hosts several Podcasts, such as For Your Inglés, The Show With No Name,  and English People. I may have missed something along the way but as you can see he's created a lot. Alberto and I have a long musical history together and had a blast catching up on all things from our musical journey together. Our conversation goes from dark dingy clubs all the way to Broadway. Check out two music nerds who were once told to shut up, sit down and turn that shit off do what they should have done long ago!!!

I decided to stay in Norway for another week when I got the opportunity to interview Kenneth Ishak from BEEZEWAX. In a previous episode I stated that "South Of Boredom" by BEEZEWAX was a desert island album for me and when you hear it you should know why. Kenneth and I connect on many things when it comes to music, from the bands we love to people we know. Kenneth's journey in music started young and continues to carry on in his wiser years. Kenneth has never stopped creating, from his other bands, HEYERDAHL and KENNETH ISHAK and THE FREEDOM  MACHINES , Kenneth keeps kickin' out the jams that keep me moving forward. Kenneth hits us with the sultry voice of an angel whispering beautiful moments into the universe for all of us to enjoy.  BEEZEWAX turns "Graffiti" into "Rainbows" and remains "The Conduit" that pulls you "Closer" to life and shows you how "Everything Happened!!!"

Check Out the Latest BEEZEWAX album "Peace Jazz" out now!!!

This week leads me all the way to Oslo, Norway and the incredible sound that is NEIGHBORING SOUNDS , the latest project of Arild Eriksen. Arild started his first band  Crash, which renamed themselves The First Cut back in the early 2000's. The discussion brings to light what true punk mentality and DIY breeds in the community. Arild is humble in his description of what led him to playing and touring with bands he respects and loves. Arild and I enjoy going back to the wonderful days of Fanzines in the late 90’s early 00’s. Just remember "Everyone's From Somewhere" just like the "Neighboring Sounds" that brought Arild and I together. Stay past the end of the episode for a taste of Neighboring Sounds!!!!

Nathan Ellis of THE CASKET LOTTERY, Able Baker Fox, & Coalesce  joins the show this week. Nathan has taken the time to remain true to where his "sweet spot" is and create the guitar driven rock we need. Our discussion leads us on a journey of friendships and what it means to see your first live rock show. Nathan and I connect on a sibling's introduction to the New Wave Era and how to find our own place.  Even though you may think "Everything Is Broken", please know that you are "Unalone" and once you get past the "Smoke And Mirrors" you can lean on THE CASKET LOTTERY  to conquer your "Real Fear"!!!!!!

This week I welcome Tyler Miller of TRYINGTOGETBY, which is Tyler's solo project. Tyler is the guitarist of VOICE OF ADDICTION as well as being a "hired gun" for many other touring bands. Tyler and I discuss his pure and passionate love of punk rock and the DIY scene in which he came up in. Tyler's story is one that must be heard to understand, from his first live performance to crisscrossing the country preforming with many different bands. Tyler gets back to his roots with the creation of TRYINGTOGETBY and takes on a verbal hiphop exploration into Ska and Punk rock music.  Give a listen and "try to get by" my miscue early on in the episode. Join Tyler and I as we don't "SHATTER" any records traveling to the "UNKNOWN", just enjoy the stories. "WELCOME TO THE SHITSHOW"

This week I sit down with Matt Lathan and Matt Watkins from the dynamic metal-core  band CAPITAL VICES. The Matt's and I discuss the making of their new E.P. "ZENITH", and what brought CAPITAL VICES to creating an Astrological concept album. The Matt's give us a look behind the proverbial curtain of what it takes to build a complicated expansive metal sound. Our discussion takes us on a crazy winding road with stops along the way that range from Kenny G to a Wendy''s dining room.  Whether you are a "GEMINI", "LEO", "CANCER or "TAURUS", just know you will never be "LEFT ALONE"!!!

This week's guest NIKI TONIK  has created a distinct sound with her blending of Soul, Pop, Rock, R&B and Hip Hop. NIKI has been compared to Sade by none other the the great producer BABYFACE. I greatly agree with Babyface's assessment, I mean who am I to argue, but when you listen to NIKI TONIK's song "Write On Time" you will be hard pressed to disagree. NIKI TONIK's story is one of spirituality and perseverance, all culminating to her album WRITE ON TIME. Join us on our journey into discovery of each others lives, for at one point Niki flips script and starts to dissect my idiosyncrasies. We took to our "DELICATE" discussion in planting a "SEED" of life to telling what would become our "GHOST STORIES".   Inspiration is not lost on the things you have created, only on the things you choose not to create.

This week I sit down with Eleanor Grace from the southern Ontario band EVER ELSEWHERE. Eleanor and I dive in to the deep rich world of post hardcore (emo)/pop punk, which is where EVER ELSEWHERE  turns too for inspiration. Eleanor's journey started with an instrument that is not like the other piano stories we have heard before. Our discussion takes us to the very beginning and to the slow burn of the band coming to an end in the future. EVER ELSEWHERE took me to a place I had long forgotten existed, melodic truthful emotional music with flare. If you are looking for your own inspiration, get out of your "Daydreams", stare up at the "Star Signs" and you will find "The Truth".

This week I sit down with  Alie Byland from BYLAND, the folk, cinematic, indie rock artist.Alie's story has some interesting twist and turns that are unlike most stories you may hear. The discussion take us down proverbial rabbit holes filled with captivating tales of finding ones self. Alie has taken to telling heart felt stories of life, love and loss with fascinating sincerity. BYLAND brings to light the the trails that tend to break us, then manages to grab a hold of heart and pulls you to safety. Join us as I learn to "Believe" that my "Shadow" will "Grow Old With Me" and forget about the things that "Passed Me By". Not by air, or by sea, but BYLAND!!!
