This week leads me across the Atlantic to Glasgow Scotland to talk to a Native Californian, A. WESLEY CHUNG. A. Wesley has honed his indie/folk/emo skills in his previous collaboration bands BORIS SMILE and THE GREAT ALBATROSS. A. Wesley Chung’s life in music started at home with a the foundation for him to find and create his own sound. When “tastes and talents” converge, anything is possible. Following your heart leads to new and exciting adventures and experiences, that’s exactly what helped lead to some great moments in A. Wesley Chungs life and musical career. Its that time of year when “Summers Gone” and you can become “Restless” remember, you can head out to the “Neon Coast” with “Coffee and Cream!”

This week we travel across the world to Auckland New Zealand to catch up with Michael Murphy (no relation….. I think) of the progressive cinematic rock band WRITTEN BY WOLVES. Their new album “The Collab Project // Secrets” was a creation started by some touching fan emails and developed for helping those with mental illness heal through music. The power of music has the ability to conquer fears and heal from a single note. Michael tells heart warming stories about the role music has played throughout his life and how he uses it to help those who need a voice. Michael made up his mind that he was going to pursue a life surrounded by music while standing on a garbage can staring at a stage (great story on the show). “Tell Me What You’re Running From” and we will deal with the “Demons” and “Secrets” together for “As Long As It Takes.”

THE COLLAB PROJECT // SECRETS - Written By Wolves           OUT NOW!!!!!!!!

This week I get to hang out with Caleb Smith of the Cincinnati, OH  Pop Punk outfit SETTLE YOUR SCORES. Caleb tells the story of what it's like to hustle and stay true to the excitement that flows through when creating something new.  Caleb and I discuss what it means to mature as a band and to not give in to the pressures around you. What does it mean to change and how is it perceived by others? We may not always be able to answer that, but it lends itself to captivating discussions. There is a moment when something becomes pure and serious and a moment when things are comical, what's harder to create? SETTLE YOUR SCORES music holds you up and keeps you safe with the vibrant and vigorous tunes they consistently produce. Settle Your Scores are as far from being "Poster Boys For Bad Luck," they've moved on from "The Way Things Used To Be" and are trying to live happily "Everafter!"

SETTLE YOUR SCORES - "Retrofit"            OUT NOW!!!!!

This week I had the great pleasure of speaking with Nathan Hussey of the essential Indie Rock band ALL GET OUT. Nathan and I discuss the hardships and triumphs about being a musician in the today's sonic world. Nathan not only creates beautiful soulful tracks with ALL GET OUT but has made himself accessible to other musicians, by helping them create their own visions as a producer and engineer. Nathan grew up in a religious household where some things were off limits or forbidden, but he found himself through the discovery of music. Nathan's stories are not only intriguing but heart warming. Nathan and I run down his "weird" obsession with a Nu Metal Icon (you have to listen to understand or judge). We also touch on how a brilliant lyric can shape your thoughts and crush your soul. It's that time of year where "The Season" is "Subject To Change" and good days have "Come and Gone," but we're all still here tryin' to "Survive!"

ALL GET OUT - New Music Coming Soon!!!!                       Stay Tuned

This week I am excited to have Johnathon Ford of the imaginative post rock/ambient band UNWED SAILOR. Johnathon has had quite the alluring career when it comes to creating and building his “friendship” with music. Johnathon’s voyage through life has always been connected to music, from a child listening to classical music to the discovery of New Wave and Punk. Johnathon’s longing for community has provided him with an amazing trek throughout his career. Johnathon has been a part of great bands such as ROADSIDE MONUMENT and PEDRO THE LION. With those experiences he embarked on what would become UNWED SAILOR, the band that evokes undeniably sultry sounds to make peace to. “Take A Minute” or 90 of them, and join us in our search of “Truth or Consequences” as we stroll through the “Dark Of The Morning” and “Haze” of the “Indian Ocean.”

UNWED SAILOR - “Truth or Consequences”   OUT NOW!!!

This week I had the great opportunity to hang out with Dylan England from the unapologetic emo band band DEL PAXTON. Dylan and I sit down and try to figure out if the "E" word is bad or not. Our conversation takes us on a journey from teaching listeners about the geography of New York, to the uniqueness of windows down music blaring drive time. Dylan and I try to answer the most important question, is DEL PAXTON the "Fast and Furious" equivalent to EMO music (jk)? Dylan and I had the opportunity to enjoy the discovery of music together. With what my be differences to some, Dylan and I connected on all things music. The band DEL PAXTON continues to grow and change with ages of the brilliant members of the band. The one thing that doesn't change is the intensity of the music they create. While Dylan and I try to take our discussion "TO THE LIMIT", we make sure to not make you "MOTION SICK," but drag you "IN THE WELL" while we record in "PRIMETIME."

DEL PAXTON - SEPTEMPER, BEDTIME, ONTARIO      OUT NOW!!!
