It takes a lot to impress the slightly middle-aged, marginally bitter ‘n twisted, founder of the show that explores all things sex, sexuality and self. However when Dean recently caught up with the 2015 winner of International Ms. Leather – Sarge – he was BLOWN away, on all fronts other than literal.
A survivor of sexual abuse, Sarge found family and sobriety through the leather community. Once existing as a victim of circumstance, Sarge now lives as a leader, driving change through compassionate understanding and empathetic connection. It’s no wonder the title of 2015 International Ms. Leather is hers.
A self-described "futch" (Femme-Butch) Sarge loves blood play, energy play, foot play, and fisting, sharing her knowledge through educational workshops and mentoring wherever possible. Nominated for Pantheon Woman of the Year and SoCal Person of the Year, she is also Ms. San Diego Leather 2014-15.
Co-founder of the House of AndOr, Sarge lives in San Diego, California and inadvertently emerged from a memorable Folsom Pride as one of the founding members of the notorious Gang Bang Girls.
As the IMsL2015 title holder, Sarge continues to enrol the global fetish community via her AMAZING mental health campaign; “You Are Not Alone” is a mental health dog-tag that flags an invitation to anyone who wants help now.
Unlike other campaigns which rely on health’ people to identify and reach-out, this campaign invites those in need to ask for assistance. Put simply: it is revolutionary.

Today, 34 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma and they’ll turn to the Leukaemia Foundation for help. Although survival rates are improving, blood cancers are the third biggest cause of cancer death in Australia.
Getting sponsored to shave, colour or wax the hair on your head, chest or face, is an extraordinary way to help families facing the challenge of blood cancer and to help Australia's best researchers.
No doubt, this affects many in the GLBTIQ community and our guest Erin O’Neil is bravely going on a mission to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause by yep, you guessed it… losing the beard (among other things).
Erin's great shave is due to take place at The Laird on Monday 14 March.

This week Dean and Andrew chat with Phil, an 'average gay guy' who joined us a few months ago to discuss PrEP.
Phil has been observing a lot of division and stereotyping that is detrimental to our sense of community, so he has a challenge for all of us: engage with people with whom we might not otherwise engage.

For lesbian couples and an increasing number of couples where someone is trans, IVF is the probably the most effective option if they are looking to raise a child.
This week Andrew and Tim are joined by Dr Melissa Cameron, from Melbourne IVF to discuss the process of IVF and how gay men can support through becoming sperm donors. Plus, did you know that surrogacy is an option in Victoria?

If you’ve woken to dreams of Batman and The Joker getting it on or Harry Potter and Ron playing together with their wands then slash fiction is probably for you. Slash fiction is a genre of fan fiction focusing on sexual relationship between fictional characters of the same sex - but it is usually written by women.
In this episode of Hide & Seek, the Apprentice chats with Jules Wilkinson about slash fiction prior to her appearance at a special forum on the topic at Hares & Hyenas in early February as part of Midsumma.

Although the theatre and musical comedy scenes have many out and proud performers, there are not many roles available where they can be themselves. This contributed to Jamie Burgess' decision to write a 'big gay musical' where openly gay performers would not have to worry about keeping a 'straight face'.
This week, Andrew and Tim are joined by some of the team from Butch Masters: Man of Destiny, a musical 'cumedy' about a young heterosexual man born into a gay world, premiering at the 2016 Midsumma Festival.
