2025 is complete - another year for the archives! A new calendar year is upon us!

Does it feel like the culmination of the year for you? Does it feel like an in-between space? The time between the ending of the calendar year and the ending of the zodiac year can seem like a transition period. How are you taking advantage of this space?

We have a stellium of planets in Capricorn - Mercury, Venus & Mars all joining the Sun to set our personal grounding. On the Cancer side of this axis, we have our full moon arriving on January 3rd with conjunction to Jupiter. Feel the feelings, find the alone time, grant yourself the much-needed introspection.

How will these reflections surface on the broader stage. We still have Neptune in Pisces at 29° - so, things may be gooey and emotional. Allow yourself to dip a toe in that pool. Come January 26th, Neptune won’t be in Pisces again for the rest of our lifetimes. This may be the perfect time to bring some awareness around the shadow side of Neptune in Pisces around disillusionment. Allow realignment for the soon to be transition into Aries.

As we move through the last days of Sagittarius season, let’s plant some seeds of intention for the New Moon this weekend. We have the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus all hanging out in Sagittarius before we enter Capricorn on the 21st. It seems odd to have a Sagittarius New Moon so close to the Winter solstice, although it acts as a great way to bring some of that mutable fire with us into Capricorn season.

Like carrying the embers of our inner fire into the next setting. Take the embers with you. A confluence of endings and beginnings as we round out the calendar year. Intentional time for reflection and year-end review. While setting intentions for this lunation cycle, which will bring us to the Full Moon on Jan 3rd in Capricorn season. We’ll can carry some of the Sagittarius desire for exploration and drive. Add some resilience and grounding as the cycle moves us and the inner planets into Capricorn.

Things will be different in the new year, right? Yes, some things will change, and we can determine what we’d like to keep with us. Neptune will be saying goodbye to Pisces. Currently at 29° we won’t experience Neptune in Pisces again in this lifetime. Take it in! How can you make this personal? Well, last week we were encouraged to embrace some dynamic tension. This week you may be feeling more contraction from the friction. Mars and Saturn are squaring off. Our Mutable Grand Cross has ended, as we have no current placements in Gemini. We still have high activation in Sagittarius with the Sun, Venus and Mars. Paired with Pisces activation with the North Node, Neptune and Saturn. The attention is toward the square aspect between Mars and Saturn this week (since Friday) until Friday 12/12.

Are you having experiences where you’re feeling like you’re in a contractive space? Are you noticing any friction of choices rubbing against each other? Mars in Sagittarius wants you to use will and exertion to get what you want. Yet this won’t be so easy with a Saturn square aspect. Saturn in Pisces follows a different clock. So it will be in your best interest to taper any forceful Martian energy and use the mutable nature of Sagittarius to your situation. Rather than push through, use the energy of Mars in Sagittarius to bob and weave. Be ready for any punch Saturn will throw at you.

If you notice your efforts are meeting resistance, don’t be discouraged. You’ll find the backing you’re looking for once you ease your hand on the throttle. You don’t have to relinquish control completely. Just find the intensity level that fits setting for the current scenario you’re facing. Friction doesn’t mean failure; it can signal readjustment.

This week’s astrology brings fun dynamic tension with our mutable signs. Hold up, am I saying dynamic tension is meant to be fun?! Ha, yes, let’s embrace it! We have our Gemini Full Moon on Dec 4 and our Sun is moving through Sagittarius season. As if these placements weren’t dynamic enough, we have the moon’s nodes placed on the Virgo/Pisces axis.

Thus, creating a Mutable Grand Cross with Gemini (Moon), Sagittarius (Sun), Virgo (South Node) and Pisces (North Node). Each at 13° within their sign. As someone who has mutable signs for my sun/moon/rising signs, I find this formation very appealing. For others, I can see how it may be overwhelming. Mutable signs bring options and variability. With all of the mutable signs activated with this Grand Cross formation, it may seem like there are too many options to choose from.

Yes, decisions must be made, but having many options is a good thing, right? Reminders of freedom, choice, and sovereign exploration. The world is your oyster! Use the Gemini Full Moon to grant you focus. If you catch yourself spinning in too many directions, turn toward the spotlight. Having an extensive variety of choice can scatter you or even stop you in your tracks (“paralysis of analysis”). Try easing into it. Embrace perspectives from all sides - see what comes from the dynamic tension that’s created. Allow some fodder for cross-pollination!

Use the power of the Gemini Full Moon to explore your thought-process and mental models. Bringing mindfulness to your emotional processing and resonances. How fluid is your cognitive/emotional feedback loop? This may be the perfect time for you to zoom-out, bringing objectivity to your personal circumstance. Validating what you’re going through emotionally, while adding some contextual framework.

Scorpio season is coming to close with a bunch of water saturation. Are you feeling it? Due to outer planet placements of Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn/Neptune in Pisces, we’re set up nicely for these Grand Water Sign placements as the more personal celestial bodies move their way through Scorpio. Today we have some notable retrogrades occurring in our skies. Just as Mercury starts its retrograde, we have Mars making a conjunction. This is happening in the sign of Sagittarius, whose ruling planet is Jupiter. Jupiter is also going retrograde. So, what insights can we take from this?

First, let’s allow for some new perspective around the meaning of Mercury Retrograde, and retrogrades in general. Let’s see the shift in a planet’s direction - known as a retrograde - as representing a shift in perspective. Perhaps highlighting a shift in circumstances, or a shift in one’s approach. Maybe even a shift in awareness and consciousness. Opportunities to reflect and integrate. To allow the processing of experiential feedback.

Adding Jupiter’s retrograde to mix, we can add the emphasis of mastery. The mastery of communication. How can you build your capacity? How can you contain the energy, before moving into action? There’s so much that goes into mastering communication. It won’t happen overnight, but you can make continued, gradual improvements. Now is the time check-in. Do the internal work that allows you to be the best communicator you can be at the present moment. Mastering your own thoughts and words, along with the delivery systems you use to make your connections.

In tandem with our personal breakthroughs, there’s often a desire for needed discussion to accompany that growth. Let’s have it! Dare you say, face the fear and do it anyway! No better time than a Mars/Mercury Conjunction to take charge and initiate some passionate communication. Happening within Scorpio too! This is happening alongside our New Moon in Libra yesterday. Setting those New Moon intentions so late in Libra season, it seems very fitting to tie them with our Scorpio energies. With Libra signifying relationships and harmony, you can consider the relational scenarios of your personal life and the changes that may be occurring. Your seeds of intention may be around formation of new relationship that are developing for you. Or letting go of some of the strife or discontent from previous relationships, to allow you to move forward with more ease.

Let this Mars/Mercury Conjunction combine with the New Moon in Libra (and Venus still hanging out in Libra), rather than being at odds. Mars in Scorpio may highlight a “conflict” and with Mercury right there, you may be primed and ready to discuss the area where you have tension. “Conflict” may not even be the word you’d use to describe the scenario, so you can simply refer to it as “contrast.” Notice if you’re having any internal conflict/contrast and give it some love and attention. Which acts as helpful prep for how you choose to show up with others. Prioritize internal harmony, which then emanates toward external harmonies.

Tomorrow the Sun and Moon will be in Scorpio with Mars and Mercury, so you can continue to explore this - choose your level of intensity and desire for transformation. We also begin a series of upcoming Grand Trines in the water signs, as these Scorpio placements become trine with Jupiter in Cancer and the retrogrades of Saturn and Neptune into Pisces. Definitely more to talk about regarding the Water Grand Trines in the coming weeks.

Grand trine for the air signs! Woohoo! This week we’re basking in the breeziness of the Grand Trine of Venus in Libra, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. Which also creates a Kite formation, due to the Neptune in Aries opposition of Venus in Libra. If you have strong affinity to the air signs, like I do, this is a great time for you to explore relationships, communication, collaboration, and social endeavors.

Uranus wants to challenge the status quo, allowing you to bring out your individuality. When Uranus transits within Gemini there’s more allowance and fluidity for this. You can throw caution to the wind and be yourself. After having contained yourself during in Uranus in Taurus. Sure, in quests of harmony, one may question how much to challenge the status quo. Yet, it’s the balance of inner harmony that must be gauged, especially when feels unexpressed and unacknowledged.

Before you consider how to harmonize with the external world, notice your internal balance and alignment first. What brings you harmony? How do you define harmony within your measurements of your relational dynamics. Tap into these answers before Uranus dips back into Taurus one last time in our lifetimes. Until it enters into Gemini, you’ll benefit from reminding yourself: “Don’t give up.” The next phase is still on the horizon and the new phases you’ve been contemplating will come to fruition.

Oh, and don’t forget we have the new moon coming up October 21st. With the new moon happening late in the season, this could be a great opportunity to see how your balancing skills have been working for you. Reflect on what worked and what you’d like to bring into the next season!
