Alaric The Barbarian discusses Youth Sports & Athletic Culture 1-19-23

Brandon Lang makes his regular Thursday appearance on High Noon to help us handicap the upcoming weekend of the NFL postseason.

Frank Cammisano is the Director of the Mokan NFL Flag Football league in St. Louis, and he joins the show to discuss youth sports in the St. Louis area. One particular topic he touches on is how the sport of football is being perceived by the parents of young children in modern day America. Also, the Billikens did a pretty good job in Chicago Wednesday night, and Rammer's back to tell us all about it.

Hey! The Blues play tonight! And they play at 7 PM! The Blues welcome in the Nashville Predators, and Max Herz from the Predators radio network joins the show to give us a little insight on the Preds.

Despite exhibiting many flaws throughout the game, Mizzou powered through to defeat the Razorbacks in front of a rocking crowd. Dennis Gates is giving Tigers fans a reason to show up again.

Nate chronicles the history of Paul DeJong within the Cardinals organization and how he became a big time player. Nate also reveals the reason as to why fans are more harsh toward DeJong than the media. Cole thinks the discussions that are being had about potential trades for the Cardinals need an upgrade. Youth sports equipment is EXPENSIVE. Parents are making their kids specialize in one sport. George (Garge) calls in.

High Noon ends with a bang as Nate takes it to the sports media for their treatment of Philadelphia Flyer Ivan Provorov. Provorov opted out of putting rainbow colored tape on his stick for a pre-planned Pride Night that the team was involved in. Provorov cited religion as his reasoning for not partaking in Pride Night, and the sports media was having none of it.

Bob Holt has been with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette since 1981, and he brings his Razorback knowledge to High Noon to help us get prepared for their rematch with Mizzou this evening in Columbia.

Howard Balzer makes his weekly appearance on High Noon on a Wednesday this week instead of a Monday! Howard offers his insight on the Cardinals hiring a new general manager and how that indicates who they may be trying to hire at head coach. H also thinks one team has a really good opportunity for an upset next weekend.
