After four men dig through a roof to lower a paralyzed man to Jesus, Mark 2:5 says that Jesus “saw their faith”— which is very curious, because faith is something that seems unseeable. What is is that Jesus sees? What do these men show us about what it means to make faith visible?

While on his way to do something very important, Jesus stops, sees, and heals a sick woman. God's people are called to live aware and interruptible lives in order to see the unseen, with eyes like Jesus.

At Highway we value personal storytelling. We believe that rehearsing the stories that God has written, and is continuing to write in our lives, allows us to know ourselves, to be known by others, and to know God as we see his ongoing work of transformation in our lives. This summer, we will occasionally pause our teaching series to hear stories from our staff about how God called them into ministry, and how that came to serve at The Highway Community. Today, John Riemenschnitter shares his story.

We see the kingdom when we embrace the uncomfortable.

What Jesus saw as he was present among us on earth not only reveals what was important to him, but it also shows us how we should see. We begin by envisioning what it might be like to have our eyes opened to see as Jesus sees, and to see what Jesus sees everywhere.

Our triune God's core character trait is love. Join us as we participate in three practices in order to make space to receive God's love, ask for his help to extend his love, and remember the journey of love Jesus undertook, anointed and led by the Spirit, to participate in his Father's redeeming work.

Jesus crossed boundaries when he met, saw, and revealed himself to a woman of low social status in order to give the gift of living water. As God’s eternally quenching water of life rose up within her, it flowed out and brought renewal and transformation to others.
