Welcome to the Hiking My Feelings Virtual Campfire. This 20-day event is a fundraiser for the Hiking My Feelings Wilderness Wellness Center, the American Diabetes Association, and RAINN - the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.
Each night from May 26-June 14, 2020 we are going live at 5pm PT to bring inspiration, hope, and healing to the community in these uncertain times.
If you find value in what we're sharing here, please consider making a contribution to our non-profit organization. You can get tickets to the Virtual Campfire at https://hikingmyfeelings.org/campfire and you can make a one-time donation at https://hikingmyfeelings.org/give
When you interact with others, are you kind because you want to be liked or because it's the right thing to do? Are you capable of loving someone without expectations? Tonight we dive into what it means to be in a conscious partnership - professional, romantic, platonic, familial, and otherwise. In a conscious partnership, we hold ourselves accountable when we've made a mistake. We apologize for the impact we've made, regardless of our intent. We communicate clearly, we establish boundaries, and while we hold space for other people's healing, we don't roll over when hurt people hurt people. Do I get this right all the time, every time? Of course not, I'm human. Am I working on showing up as my best, most compassionate, most grounded self? Every. Damn. Day.
Our first guests tonight are Michelle and Kenya Jackson-Saulters, the two hearts behind the @outdoorjournaltour and the #WeHiketoHeal movement. Once I profess my deep gratitude to these women for the work they are bringing into the world, we're going to dig into what it means to show up - for ourselves, for each other, and for our communities around us. I've long been a fan of "do no harm, take no shit" and I'm excited to discuss how being strong in our values and clear in our communications is the healthiest way forward in all of our relationships.
