  • HNT 262: Our Bitty Buddy Bonnie. Tipping. Where’s the Recession? FIFO with the VID. Workplace Jargon Tripping up the Youngins. Harvard Morgue.

It’s our pleasure to introduce our second pod cat, the Bonnie Situation.

Tipping is out of control. Either people who know damn good and well tipping is expected at all sit down diners and DON’T or websites and vending machines want tips. And the expected amount is crazy. But maybe that’s because we’re all expecting a recession that’s not materialized.
You’ll never guess how they’re trying to find one guy in Ohio. He probably knows how to keep his ducks in a row. Workplace jargon is the latest challenge for the youngins.
And dear Harvard Morgue, if you hire someone that tattoos their eyeball maybe you should keep an eye on them for other questionable decisions.
Hillbilly Nerd Tip, you’ll get the attention you dress for. We see you.

  • HNT 261: Guardians of the Galaxy. An Outhouse Story. Scotch Irish History? Library Hoopla. Succession. Petra’s Smut Review.

We’re glad we got out and smelled the popcorn for Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s a blockbuster movie and why people go out to experience it.

Outhouses played a part in my traumatic past, and when faced with the most elegant, decked out outhouse ever, I froze.
Is there no Scotch Irish pride in Appalachia because we all converted to Protestant churches? There was certainly no drinking and no St. Patrick’s Day for us.
Hank’s making use of our library and their app called Hoopla. Who knew they had so much?
We’re watching each episode of Succession twice. And I felt smut shamed by a literal blue haired feminist on YouTube. YES

  • HNT 260: National Guard Criminals. Tupperware. Prankster Shot. John Lennon’s Lost Weekend. Succession.

It’s been a bad week for the National Guard. One of theirs was arrested for leaking secrets to his gamer buddies. Another was arrested for applying to be a hitman. I don’t remember ever hearing about problems like these.

Introducing a new segment: Petra’s funny trauma stories. This one is about Tupperware. I’m healing by telling stories from my childhood I can’t tell anywhere else. Healing through comedy.
USA has been trigger happy as hell lately, and a prankster seeking viral fame found it when he got shot.
A new memoir is coming out about John Lennon’s Lost Weekend. And we’ve started watching Succession. What a wild show!

  • HNT 259: First Reaction Videos, Hank’s Dad Died, Loretta Lynn, Trump’s Arrest

    – First reaction videos are a thing. They are pretty fun! Check out some of them with your favorite classic rock songs.

    – Hank’s dad died. That is making us ponder things.
    – Hank is reading Loretta Lynn’s book Coal Miner’s Daughter. It’s a classic. She grew up in the same place, at the same time and under the same circumstances as Hank’s dad.
    – Can you believe the tomorrow True will be arrested! Holy Crap!

  • HNT 258: Banking. Winter Rant and Blue Monday. Teens and Porn. Luxury Car Mystery. What we’re Watching.

Banking is rigged. Read everything before you sign it.

It’s been so dreary, dark, and cold here. It’s called Blue Monday because of the weather, post holiday debt, and failed resolutions. The news is unwatchable.
Some folks did a study about teenagers seeing porn. It sounds more like some folks found out which teens lie.
We have way too many young gals driving luxury cars, and Hank’s figured out maybe why.
The Menu was great, and we’re enjoying the Ann Rice Immortal Universe shows.

  • HNT 257: Changes! Podcat 2.0. House of the Dragon. Maniac. Starship Troopers at 25. And More Changes.

We’re happy to introduce Ripley, Podcat 2.0. She’s our only child, so we gush.

Are we already becoming cyborgs with our phones giving us photographic memory and access to Dr Google? We typed our term papers on typewriters.
I’m all in on House if then Dragon, loving the female viewpoint as much as the dragons. I relate to the utter dysfunction of the Targarians, and love being back in Westeros. Hank’s ok watching it with me.
Hank’s watched Netflix’s Maniac. I caught enough to think it’s weird but love the sets and acting.
It’s time to revisit Starship Troopers. It’s funny and satire, but the marketing made us expect a serious action movie. Expectations weren’t met.
And a racist little scandal came out of Kentucky. We’re glad things are changing and this isn’t tolerated.

  • HNT 256: Chairman Meow. House of the Dragon. The Boys. The Sandman. The Floaty Space Man. The DART Astroid Mission. Hunter S. Thompson and the Nixon Trump Dystopia.

This show is in memory of Chairman Meow. I’m scared I’ll never love any animal as much as I loved that mean grey cat. There is a kitty shaped hole in my heart.

I’ve been loving television lately, and picking the shows. We both liked The Sandman. Hank liked The Boys until the end, and I think he’s only putting up with House of the Dragon because I’m utterly obsessed.

We’ve enjoyed some ambient music from YouTube. The floating astronaut is amazing. It’s devolved into “floaty spaceman” here.

NASA says not to worry, but they’re trying to change the trajectory of an astroid. So don’t look up but there’s a Double Astroid Redirecting Test going on.

Hank is a big history reader, and he’s reading Hunter S. Thompson’s articles written during the Nixon era. It’s good to know that things have been this crazy before.

  • HNT 254: Slapageddon. New Music from Old Bands. Momma’s Family and Seven Year Switch. Mr. Skin.

Will Smith had time to consider that slap. It totally overshadowed his win (and Samual L Jackson’s too.) Jada used the look on him.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are auditory garbage, the Ron Burgundy of rock. And you can’t escape them. They’re putting out new crap.
I wasn’t allowed to watch Momma’s Family growing up. Figured out why. I binged Seven Year Switch. And we’re enjoying the Righteous Gemstones and Winning Time.
And Mr. Skin is a creepy concept.

  • HNT 253: Cat Food Shortage. Master Gardening. Ban Pit Bulls. Is this WW3?

Chairman Meow is a picky little shit and finding her food has been challenging. I’m doing the Master Gardner training and volunteering. I’ve find my tribe. My outrage subs have been active lately. I can’t imagine what possesses people to keep “pets” that cause so much death, destruction, and STRESS. And what’s going on in Ukrainian is freaking us out.
