Relational blowouts are inevitable, but relational breakdowns don't have to be permanent. When we follow Jesus and reject superiority, release the debt, repay with kindness and return to restore, we reflect the grace that Jesus has given to us and get to watch Jesus change everything.
Friendship doesn't happen by accident- it's formed through the wisdom to choose well, the strength to walk together, and the willingness to work through friction. Jesus is the friend who pursued us, walked to the cross for us, and did the work to redeem us. The more we experience His friendship, the more we grow into friends who reflect His heart.
Proverbs 16:18 shows us that pride, be it pride of mind, heart, soul, or strength, will lead to our destruction. Until the Lord takes center stage in our lives, pride will be at work, putting us above and before Him. The good news, however, is that Jesus, the Humble One, has endured the penalty of our pride and holds the power to free us from it.
Proverbs 11:24-28 exposes the subtle way greed takes root when we look to our possessions for the security, significance, and strength only God can provide. But Jesus changes everything: the One who gave Himself for us teaches us that we don't have to cling to what we have -we can live wisely, freely, and generously, using what God has placed in our hands to give life to others and show them the Gospel
When the Living Word, Jesus, takes His rightful place on the throne of our heartrs, He changes not only what we believe, but also how we speak. Instead of using words to conquer, control and crush, we become first responders who use our words to heal, help and bring hope.
When I put myself at the center of my life, I consume community instead of creating community. Jesus alone can free us from the tyranny of self to live with open hands, surrendered heart and others in mind.

As we continue exploring Proverbs, today we examine where our hearts are leading us and what is shaping them along the way. Proverbs reminds us that our words, attention, and actions reveal what is happening within, and that true transformation comes not simply from knowing or doing the right things, but from allowing Jesus to reshape the desires of our hearts.
We were all on the path of death, trusting ourselves and going our own way. Jesus became the Way by taking the death we deserved and giving us the life we didn't. As we follow Him, He forms us one step at a time.
