Hillside Fellowship Podcast

God exists in a perfect community called the Trinity.  He needs nothing and does not view us as a commodity to be used to fill up something lacking in Himself.  Do you view people as a community to be served or a commodity to be used?  This week we are reminded of our problem, where true righteousness comes from and how the Gospel gives us rest so that we might serve people as a community and not treat them like a commodity. God is perfect. He has wrath and anger as well as love and forgiveness. Today we will see how these attributes are not antithetical to one another but attached to one another. Hebrews 9 shows us how Holy God is, how heinous our sin is and the huge price God paid for our redemption. Many, if not most followers of Jesus are confused concerning how the Old Covenant and New covenant work together.  As a result we try hard to be good and please God which leaves us insecure and stressed.  In the New Covenant, Jesus pays our debt in full and removes the stain of sin and the sting of death allowing us to be calm and secure in a chaotic stressed world. Some of us think that we need someone to go to God on our behalf, but don’t know who to turn to. Some of us believe that we can access God on our own, but is this true?
