The leading evangelical voices in the world today are man like Brian Houston, who formed Hillsong. Houston is fighting a DUI charge in California, while dealing with allegations of debauchery relating to his behavior in the church. Four of the top 10 worship songs for this generation belong to Hillsong. But what makes for such a powerless Christianity? And, what were those prerequisites for leadership in the church as laid down in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1? But could the problem be more fundamental than this? Nothing is more abominable in worship than the displacement of the glory of God with the aggrandizement of man by showmanship, celebrity preachers, and musical performance. Is this the end for star pastors?
