When you think of Merlin you might think of the Arthurian wizard. Did you know that there was another Merlin in the 1770s? A man so eccentric, yet ingenious, that you could also call him a wizard. John Joseph Merlin was a late Georgian inventor who is often known to have created the first quad roller skate. But he created so many more inventions than just skates.
