James Graham, a doctor without a degree in the 1770s, touted that he could cure all manner of ailments from cancer to sterility. He is known as the “Prince of Quackery”. If he wasn’t trying to cure you via an ‘earth bath”, he would also offer a trip to his Health Temple. Here, he would sell you all types of cures from nitrous to electricity and various elixirs. If you were trying to conceive you and your partner could spend a night on his excessively elaborate “celestial bed”. Presuming, of course, that you could afford any of these treatments. Join us as we discuss his life, his “medical knowledge”, his Heath Temples and his life post 1784. We are joined by guest: Kacie.
