The town of Abbeville in South Carolina is near the Georgia state line and hosted the last war council for Jefferson Davis. The Confederacy died in this town. The tree-lined square hosts many historic buildings and the town itself is filled with Victorian and Gothic styled homes. This all makes Abbeville seem like a quiet little town. The Winchester Mystery House or Winchester Mansion is one of the most unique and bizarre homes ever built. The mystery part of the name refers to the interior infrastructure. It truly is a mystery why certain elements were constructed. There are stairways that lead to nowhere and doors that open to walls and windows on the interior of the house. USS The Sullivans is berthed now at the Buffalo Naval and Servicemen's Park in New York. We learned a lot about USS The Sullivans when we toured the USS Yorktown in June 2024. It's a very different name for a ship and that's because it was named for five brothers who all died aboard the same ship when it was sunk by a Japanese submarine during World War II. Those brothers just may be haunting their namesake. Or maybe there are other spirits here. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of USS The Sullivans. Great battleships and aircraft carriers have always been a massive asset and a nation with an abundance of them was a power to be feared. The USS Lexington was a massive aircraft carrier that set more records than any other Essex Class carrier in the history of naval aviation during a career that made it the oldest working aircraft carrier in the US Navy. The Crandell Murder shocked the nation. Sylvester Crandell shot his mother-in-law, his step-daughter, his wife and himself in 1887. This was the worst crime Saratoga County had experienced up to that point. All four people would die and the main motivation seems to have been money. Sylvester Crandell and wanted more of it and when his wife and mother-in-law wouldn't give it to him, his rage erupted. And in the wake of the crime, it seems that the Crandell House has some paranormal activity.

Prisons had once been thought of as just holding areas to punish people.  In the late 1800s, a movement started that aspired to a higher ideal of  reform, rather than punishment. Eastern State Penitentiary was built to  launch that reformation in the American penal system. The prison's  edifice is formidable and resembles a castle. This eventually became the  most famous prison in the world. The prison ran for 142 years and today  serves as a museum that offers both historical and ghost tours and  hunts.
