This week, Scott and Aaron dive deep into the U.S. Constitution, which was signed on September 17, 1787 – a bundle of compromises that many of us still don’t fully understand today. (And by “many of us,” we’re specifically referring to a lot of the folks who claim to be its strongest supporters. That’s political discourse for you.) Also this week, Francis Scott Key writes the poem that eventually becomes the American national anthem.

This week, Scott and Aaron remember historical figures who fought against adversity to achieve their dreams of a better world. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the most notable; this week marks the 60th anniversary of his “I Have A Dream” speech at the March on Washington in 1963. But there are many others – including Bayard Rustin, who organized that march; a union organizer who inspired an Oscar-winning film; the education advocate who pioneered the kindergarten movement; and an antifascist who became a celebrated freedom fighter during World War II.
