Thank you for using some of your valuable time to listen to my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first one appeared on my 2014 Christian album "Wash Me / Walk On Water" which you can find here:

https://lightninglucas.bandcamp.com/album/wash-me-walk-on-water

The second song today is "Mere Mortals" and it relates to the C.S. Lewis quote that you'll hear me talk about throughout the episode.  The quote comes from the essay "The Weight of Glory"...

Thank you for using some of your valuable time to listen to my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first one appeared on YouTube in 2016 for the NPR tiny desk contest.  The second one is brand new this week.  Both songs are about having high ambitions that don't pan out the way you thought they might.  Today I experimented with the levels of the talking versus the songs... let me know if it improved your experience!

The book that I talk about in today's episode is "Ultralearning" by Scott H. Young.  The book summaries of it that I listened to were awesome, and there's a free audiobook version of the full book on YouTube.

Unstuck... getting unstuck.  That's the goal.

Thank you for using some of your valuable time to listen to my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first one appeared on the show before, in June of 2021, but I touched it up for today's episode... the second one is brand new... it's about getting unstuck.  Both of these songs relate to depression but are somewhat lighthearted nonetheless.

The book that I talk about in today's episode is "Unstuck: Your Guide to the Seven-Stage Journey Out of Depression" by James S. Gordon, MD.  I've only read the introduction so far and it already inspired a song... but I can't really vouch for the book yet.

Thank you for checking out my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first is one I wrote for my Dad, inspired by my decision to stop working in our family's painting business.  The second one is a 2015 recording of a song I wrote for my Grandfather called "Watchin' Your Grandsons Paint."

Thank you for checking out my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first is one I wrote with my brother C.S. Hurst in the early 2010s... the recording is from 2014 and I remastered it today.  The second was written and recorded in 2015 but I just made an entirely new recording of it this week.  (Thanks to innorecords for the wonderful rain noise).

Thank you for checking out my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first is from last year, it's the first song that was new on the show to be reused as an old one... (We did 150+ with no repeats, so the time has come...) The new song is about activation energy, and that's what I spend most of the talking time talking about, too.

Thank you for checking out my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  Here are two more songs!  The first is a cowboy story, and the second is a birthday song for myself.  Apologies for publishing this late... (the episode was done on time just not posted), I went to the local Christian Music Festival yesterday, and I painted a long day today with my dad.

Thank you for checking out my musical podcast, where each week we hear two songs, usually one old and one new.  This week the first song takes some of its material from the Sermon on the Mount (Google it), and the second song is a humorous yet poignant 'recipe' for happiness.
