Tonight, I thought that it would be important to speak candidly, that is if it can be candid about the swarm of allegations of sexual misconduct not only coming from Hollywood, but also the potential of more lurid allegations being brought forward in the political arena.

Sexual exploitation and human trafficking of minors in the United States is a very ugly subject to address because of what it does to us emotionally. This is why I believe it is frequently overlooked. Rape allegations in Hollywood have now been scandalous fodder for the media to play with and it can become more exploitative and even akin to a so-called witch hunt.

But of course, the term, “witch hunt” can also be exploitative.

In the past, women were symbolically burnt at the stake or drowned in a public spectacle. In what we call our civilized society, women put on trial by the media with vultures picking apart their personal history, which is transformed into sensational headlines that put the victim in a dangerous place when they decide to come forward about sexual impropriety.

When we can see the witch hunt epoch as the “burning times” we can see that what is happening now are the “enlightening times” where it all unravels and mesmerizes us until we are numb or hostile about an already suspected toxic psycho-sexual environment.

In the last few months, there has been increasing attention in the media and elsewhere about sexual misconduct and also the scourge that is in the hidden underbelly of power, and that is pedophilia.
