March 24, 2021The Holy Eucharist w/ Special Guest Fr Ben JefferiesIn this special episode, Clinton and Fr Jamie talk to Fr Ben Jeffries on the subject of the Holy Eucharist. Fr Ben is a priest at The Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Opelika, Alabama. He served on the Liturgy Task Force of the ACNA from 2015-2019, and was the lead designer for the production of the printed prayer book. He continues as the Assistant to the Custodian of the Book of Common Prayer (2019), and serves on the board of directors of Anglican House Media Ministries. He has recently written a series of articles for the North American Anglican Journal on the relationship between the Eucharistology of the Anglican Church and that of the Patristic Fathers, arguing that there is a deep congruence between the catholic view of the Eucharist and the Patristic view, and that this view can be gleaned from the Anglican formularies. We use this insight as a jumping off point for a conversation which explores themes that are vital to understanding our identity as catholic Christians today. All of Fr Ben's articles on the North American Anglican Journal, including his writings on the Holy Eucharist, can be found here.We hope you enjoy this episode of Holy C of E.
