This morning Toufic spoke on 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6

Prayer points

Robert Sang led the time of prayer.

• We opened in worship with the song “Give thanks with a grateful heart.” Afterwards, a few of us gave thanks to God for who He is and all He has done in our lives.

• After Toufic spoke we each went round offering a few words of praise to God.

• Then we prayed that we would do everything for the gospel with pure motives and not look for praise from other people

This morning Carolyn spoke from 1 Thes 1:7-10

Reema led the time of prayer, praying for God’s word to go out

• Through us

• Through the persecuted church and pray for protection for them

This morning Ben spoke from 1 Thessalonians 1:6 and how the word of God, encountering our weary hearts, triggers an endless, life-giving chain reaction of the Spirit.

Sophie Passante led the time of prayer, praying:

• That we would know the joy of the Holy Spirit in a fresh way with each day of this week

•That the Lord, in His kindness would lead us to imitate His ways rather than the ways of the world .

This morning Jo spoke from 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5

Afterwards Jo led the time of prayer, praying that

• We invite the Holy Spirit to fall afresh on us

• We ask the Holy Spirit to empower us

• We pray that we can pour out the gospel to others

Today Rory opened the book of 1 Thessalonians speaking on1 Thessalonians 1:1-3. At the start of this letter, we look at what the heartbeat is of the young Thessalonian church - their faith, hope and love.

Afterwards Rory led the prayers, praying:

• that we would be stirred in faith, lead in God's love and filled with a renewed sense of hope in the Lord Jesus.

Today James spoke from 2 Peter 3:17-18. In the last two verses of Peter's last letter he is giving us a warning that we would not lose our stability in Christ but that instead we would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

James led the time of prayer:

• starting by reading Psalm 27:1-4 and praying that our one desire would be to seek the Lord and to gaze on his beauty.

• praying for each other that we would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This morning Tim spoke from 2 Peter 3:14-15

Afterwards Tim led the prayers.

• We prayed for God’s blessing on our woman’s event this Saturday evening. Please pray for that event and for the women of our church family!

Today Emma spoke on 2 Peter 3:10-13

Emma then led the time of prayer, praying:

• For us to pray against the lies of the enemy who wants to trick us into thinking things of the world are better than what God has in store for us

• That our hearts would be open to marvel at how good God is afresh today

Today Jo spoke from 2 Peter 3:8-9

Jo also led the time of prayer for us to:

• Thank God for His patience

• Thank God for His gift of peace

• Thank God that He doesn’t want anyone to perish

• Pray for all of those who are searching for peace and faith

This morning Robert spoke on 2 Peter 3:3-7 where Peter talks about how we'll encounter scoffers in the last days who are wilfully ignorant of God's truths which God has revealed in the past. But Jesus is coming back in glory to bring judgment and we need to be ready.

Robert led the time of prayer praying

• That we would hold to the truths of scripture and not be wilfully ignorant of what God has revealed before or inadvertently becoming a scoffer

• That we would live in the light of Jesus' return and be ready for that day

• For the situation in Ukraine
